The Nokia Ovi Stores hits 1.6 million downloads per day

Only a month ago around 1.5 million apps were downloaded from the Ovi Store each day and now the down- loads per day reach 1.6 million. That sure sounds impressive. But the App Store could only laugh at...

aww what is this stupidity GSMArena ?

iPhone can download "ONLY" from the Apple App store.. So their download rates are higher.

Its not the case for Symbian/Maemo nokia mobiles.. they are allowed to download from "Anywhere" on web. If you are going to make fun of OVI at least have some sense.

    the reason the appstore has so many downloads is because the iphone is not a complete phone. you need an app for bluetooth, multitasking,... nokia has that out of the box.

    still, the ovi apps should grow and should support older phones. the apps are mostly usefull, i dont even look at the wallpapers. the last thing i need is to buy wallpapers and themes...

      nokia application store sucks most applications are low class and dont work with most devices, the applications most are for kids play im going to buy an iphone soon this ovi store realy sucks

        If there were some decent Apps then maybe more would get downloaded!

        Especially the Apps for the N900 - almost all crap and useless. The apps from the repositries are at least vaguley useful/well built.

            Apple has 4 billion downloads for apps but how many of them are useful??
