Muthu, 30 Dec 2015Well said. As I can't speak for others, I will share my own... moreIn all fairness it should be said that Ios 8.0 was REALLY bugged in general even on their (then) newest Ip6-. The bug-patch versions 8.1 and 8.2 remedied most of the stability issues. (So the instability part of your 8.0 experience were hardly a deliberate attempt to make your device work worse)

That's strategy to show that your Iphone 4s is outdated, and you need to ride the upgrade train.

You mean the phone that was around same time as ... moreYes but in the galaxy s2 you have 100 ways to roll back if you feel a difference in performance, not stuck forever like my ipad mini. People buy apple because of it's not a resource hungry software and devices run smoothly on it.
They simply could've added the option to revert back to ios6, clearly customer satisfaction will be decreasing at apple.

iPhone 4s? You mean the phone that was around same time as Galaxy S2? That one?

The users of iPhones are upset. Maybe because the way Apple projects its iOS to be really great and so much better than Android and how "it just works". Also, you have to cough out more money to buy iPhone than any Android device. Whether the device has old specs but its OS is handled by Apple itself. With Android the things are different. That's why some people like to switch to Apple for timely updates, smooth running OS and giving top notch performance with so less hardware. Also, the difference in spec from 2011 to 2015 is massive with Android than iPhone. 8 to 10 core CPU, 3-4GB RAM vs 512-2gb RAM, 2 cores CPU.

So even if the model is old...you can still get your hands on a brand new one and if you then directly update to latest iOS you can throw away your brand new phone.

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2015A 4 year old device is bound to get slow on updates. Apple ... more"Nexus project"? You mean "Nexus line" (it was never a project, it's just a series of devices).

That aside, keep in mind, Apple wants everyone to use the latest version, not the best one. That's kind'a the thing - the 4S is pretty much a low-end device by today's standards, Apple wants it out the market, but people still like it and keep using it (which you cant blame them for, it was good for it's time). So if they DID pull something like this, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

A 4 year old device is bound to get slow on updates. Apple should follow the nexus project of google where it offers only 2 major updates after the release of device .

But it does not mean that apple is a bad company. They are still one of the best R&D for mobile and tablets atleast.

This lawsuit will increase awareness among iOS users.
And as far as the claim that android users are more tech savvy than iOS users, i agree but not completely.
Because when most of the peole buy android mobile they have to consider many options but an iOS user just go out and buy it. So in the process an android user understands about various false claims made by manufacturers.

I've known this apple's dirty trick long time ago when it slowed down two iphone 3gs of me and my wife with it's last update. Still working great.
