Sony Ericsson defies analysts, posts a profit for Q1

this is the last profitable quarter for sony.. this is for sure. because in future, they have nothing special offer to earn profit. just look at xperia mini and xperia pro. both have 2.6 inches screens. who would purchase these ugly devices when lgGW620 and samsung Glaxey Spica are available with much bigger screen and price is still much low.
lats talk about X10 superphone (so called). no secondry camera, no HD video recordind, no Divx support and what about toch screen. Believe me it has resistive touch screen. I Compared X10 touch screen with LG GD510 pop and...........lg pop screen is more responsive then X10.....ha

I have been SE fan before when i had k850,k800,t700 and then.went for n82 it was good one too...then the touch screen phones started raising up then.i went for samsung touchwiz where it was exciting when bought first then.after few months the samsung was really boring to use..after using other brands i was not comfortable like the A200 platform...now having SE c510 and nokia 5800 and both are really good phones...expecting SE to release touch phones based on A200 platform with good multimedia features!!!

What SE really need to do is to make their current range of devices perfect by removing as many bugs are possible. Specially on X2. They need to work on X10 to update it with new Andriod. Then they should focus only on one thing, advertisement and promotion everywhere.

Yes. A200 platform is still good in the eyes of many. SE Should make a high-end A200 phone with 3.5mm jack and usb port. Sure gain more buyers!!

i hope that sony ericsson learned there lesson.... by integrating good video player,video capture and the elusive 3.5mm headphone jack and memory storage.. NOW bring some new technology to the table...like what you did with the k800i

, just 21 million profit and u r rejoicing. it is nothing in front of nokia, samsung and Lg. SE gain this profit only because samsung and LG are relatively behind in smartphone sector. But they will not sit silently . just take the example of LG. Lg has not released even a single android phone after GW620 that was released way back in september 2009. Believe me or not, but LG is working on some of the best highend smart phones. Don't u see every now and then aaaaaan XML file of their mysterious devices appearing in different websites. Same is the case with samsung. they are even better then lg.
it is my suggestion to sony to stop making touch screen phone and make jost simple candybar phones. that is ur field sony.
KOREAN manufacturars are the best, holdind more then 31% of market share.. yeah...........................

It is pretty surprising they managed to sell more high end mobiles.
(10.5 in q1 2010 vs. 14.5 million q1 2009)
Only having high end models,They make us belive SE is going to make serious
competition to its competitors.

Reality check , 16 Apr 2010Agree! Market share is plays second fiddle for companies li... moreI think you have a very good point about Sony Ericsson not having a high-end device. Back than if I remember they have only one series that was P as an high-end fill. They do have other brands and expensive sets but I can't recall something rated HIGH. When people begin to use SmartPhones globally, SE fall behind. G series would be great but somehow it didn't work out either. Now they almost tied up this end. They need to hold back a little bit more to see work results of their new line Vivaz, X10 and Minis before going into promotional phase.
