Apple Q1 results are out, impressive as usual

21 April, 2010
It's no secret that Apple are doing pretty well as of late, so their good financial results for the first three months of the year should come as no surprise. The Company recorded revenue of 13.50 billion US dollars and...

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2010Seeing that you have no knowledge of ARM whatsoever, I feel... moreDo you have a problem understanding simple english? I barely said anything about ARM, and here you are giving me a lecture about it. I wasn't even talking about ARM, but more on the mentality of nokia fanboys.

And why do you keep bringing back Apple's past? Is it because it makes you feel better that back then they were not doing so well, so you love dwelling in Apple's past?

How can you say that the iphone 4g is nokia inspired when nokia never built a full touchscreen phone not until a couple of years after the 1st iphone was released. Are you out of your mind?

newmacgeek, 23 Apr 2010Have you heard the comment - there is an app for that? i... moreLong story short, you need an app for everything - noon e says there isn't one.

Microsoft and Windows (especially 7) wouldn't own 95% of the market share if they didn't offer built in functionality.

And as long as you go with a high end model from any premium brand (but apple) you don't need extra software, extra adapters, extra cables.

You just plug it in and it works.
You connect it to your tv and it streams.
You want do send files, you send them - an internet connection doesn't tie you up.

You really don't need to tie yourself up with cables, download software on your pc for your phone(how twisted is that?) or concern yourself with jailbreaking, losing warranty, bricking your phone etc... UNLESS YOU GET an iPhone - thn you have =)))

Stop accusing people can't afford iphone. I'm sure most of us can afford iphone if we want to. I do own a iphone 3G. Is a nice phone to use, but it can't perform what i want, is like locking u down, u need to install on whatever things they allow and must follow their way, I don't like this.

i can transfer almost any file i like to my iPhone over wifi including .txt with a file manager app for FREE from the app store. My iPhone is not jailbroken.

Chances are the computer where you work doesn't have iTunes.

You can't even send files via bluetooth...

Apple sells what everyone else is selling, only without all the features - i'm pretty sure the term for this is autocratic and uninovative.

i admire apple for innovation design and technology. but i totally disagree and are against apple.

for their if you buy apple product you got to use apple itunes to do everything. i feel if you buy a phone you should be use say windows media player or nero to rip your tunes.

thankfully there are little programs freeware you can get to rip songs in WMP or nero. to put on ipod or iphone.

if apple made a phone like my omnia hd. i would go out and buy one tommorow. as it is apples only merits on iphone is apps. so if a sale of phone is based on apps, thats still impressive.

so apple if you were to make an 8 megapixel cam phone with hd recording, gps wifi and so on. you could give the omnia hd and SE vivaz a run for its money. still apple iphone is great device.

And yes, it is quite shameful for veteran mobile manufacturers for not being able to come up with the kind of implementation that Apple has come up with, when really, they have all the technology as well to do it if only they pushed themselves to make life easier for their users.

The iPhone is not for me, I don't like it. But I agree that it was Apple who pushed everyone hard to improve the mobile experience, making it appear close to what we have on our desktops, including WHAT we could do.

The point that the technology was already there when Apple arrived makes it even more embarrassing for the ones like Nokia, for example.

Apple did revolutionize the way people think of mobile phones. They made users realize that phones can actually be more useful than just making calls and sending sms. Features like email, web browsing, 3rd party apps, social networking, etc have already been around for several years before the first iphone was released. But it is the iphone that actually made them usable. It was so frustrating to do those things before on a phone that you end up not using them at all. But the iphone was able to implement those features effectively that we can now actually browse the web, send emails, download apps easily and smoothly. Apple entered into the mobile business not just at the right time, but with the right technology in their hands and with the right mentality and ideas that others fail to deliver even when all those great technology are already out there. So yes, you have to give it to Apple for doing a great job on the iphone which pushed the rest to do the same.

The iphone offers awesome technology. High technology is not just measured by the number of features you can squeeze into a device, but more on how well its algorithm is designed in tuned with its hardware specs. Apple knows how to balance software and hardware technology, and the result is a smooth performing device. They pay a high price for that, hence, the iphone is sold at a premium price.
