Bricked, 22 Apr 2010Have you seen this??
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/stand... moreAre u kidding? It would be awesome!
Just imagine apple buying ARM, and after nokia and LG the rest of the manufacturers siding with intel.
That would mean billions of X86 apps for the rest of us and the great iTunes store for the 5% MAC users and the 10% iPhone users around the world.
Imagine how cool that would be, you, fanboys totally left out!
I only pray Apple buys ARM, then the rest of us will enjoy PC architecture on every single mobile device!
Here's a prologue of what's to come: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_gw990-3164.php
X86 and X64 gone mobile! I CAN'T WAIT!

i shall be neutral here.. i saw post and could feel gun powder firing from apple n nokia fan. lets be clear' apple did nt revolutionlise touch scn' donkey yrs ago SE alr has touch scn capability but on its high end phone. thi was becuz at then to produce a touchscn is much coslier than now. it was after several breakthrough, and coincidentally, apple jump into the phone making ind. i could cite exp like why 2GB of ram is a norm now in computer but not in the past, becuz of technology breakthrough. if u guys wans to credit touchscn, it has to be the researcher of such panel n no doubt it has to be samsung lcd devision for their rnd work. through their research, new techology could be brought t the mass at affordable price. likewise for apple apps, if there are no 3g , do u think the whole iphone could recieve such glory? thus all i could say is credit to apple board by entering the phone market at the right time, when the mobile ind is transiting from 2g to 3g. think at it guys

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2010Iphone has made life easier, for those who DO NOT want to s... moreFirst of all, suggest you use "" to indicaate whatever being said by someone, as you totally confused what I said vs. what u said.
"Yeah, we all have to pay to download application in iTunes store while others can download it any website free of charge."
My wife uses iphone (who doesn't know how to jailbreak), but she hasn't paid for any app she uses...there are plenty still being free of charge.
"Of course, they love so much with iphone. They earn a huge profit margin with iphone. Btw, users must subscribe data plan in order to have the iphone, is not strange that more people are subscribing to data plan. Besides, as technology advancing every year, is not strange that there are getting more people subscribing data plan.(Not just by phone, but also broadband too)"
Not really, where I live one can buy unlock iphones without any contract. Only most do use iphone for surfing the net and would be silly not to subscribe to data plan.
But then users of "so called smartphones" like 6 series or even E-series of the almighty brand, I do know a good number of them only use the PHONE functions and never bother to download any apps. Not to mention about subscribing to data plan.
"If u are agree that company should release one phone per year, I can't imagine what the outcome will be. Imagine u only have one phone to choose only for one year, imagine everybody using iphone only. Thank god Nokia got release so much phone so that all kinds of people can choose their phone according their needs, not just forcing themselves to fit apple's requirement."
Practically Motorola has done the same for where I live. Last Jan it released A3100, and not until Dec 09 it released Milestone, and no other high end phone is available from the company where I live at this moment. I'm happy with my Milestone, but its infrequent release also allows me to save enough # to buy the next high end phone.
Before iphone 3G came out (which made iphone more available worldwide), the almighty brand, despite years of experience on 3G phones (since 6650/6630), and so called touchscreen device (the one and only 7710), REFUSED to offer any 3G touchscreen phone until AFTER Apple released iphone 3G.
"have ever heard SE P990?(2005)SE W950/M600(2006),SE P1(2007) HTC P3600(2006), HTC P3600i(2007)HTC TyTN(2005), HTC Touch Cruise(2007), Motorola A1010(2005, still a lot more."
I was talking about the almighty brand dude! Even for the ones you mentioned, none of them matched the sales of iphone.
"When iphone release, it is the slimmest touchscreen device around. (there are slimmer phone with no touchscreen device)
As of April 2010:

Toshiba TG02 126 x 66 x 9.9 mm
Ops.. iphone not so thin after all. OMG, Toshiba also slimmer than iphone. Not bad. I haven't include SE and some samsung device where the camera is 8MP-12PM phones with around 13mm which I think is very slim take into account of the camera pixel."
Apparently users of iphone already proved they DO NOT CARE about all the high tech stuff only the geeks care. High megapixel cam? Why not simply use a DC?
Again, when some of these companies keep releasing x number of new models every month, others can no longer tell whether or not if the phone is new, or what it can really do. But for iphone, most people know what it can do and how to use it.
"As far as I concern, most of us know that people bought iphone just to show off. As specially those teenager and apple fanboys. Nothing much."
My wife, manager, ex-boss, and others I know as iphone users are neither apple fans, nor are they teenagers.
Maybe I'm the frog under the well, but the world is much bigger than US...and where I live, from my observation, most iphone users are indeed office workers. Not teenagers and most don't have any other apple products.

If so, chance... moreIphone has made life easier, for those who DO NOT want to spend the time (like the geeks) to figure out how to install this or that program into their phones, and believe me, the number of such users easily outnumber those tech geeks.
Yeah, we all have to pay to download application in iTunes store while others can download it any website free of charge.
And yes, the network service providers love iphones, as more than ever more (ordinary) people are subscribing to data plan than ever before.
Of course, they love so much with iphone. They earn a huge profit margin with iphone. Besides, as technology advancing every year, is not strange that there are getting more people subscribing data plan.(Not just by phone, but also broadband too)
Iphone has also made itself the easily recognized icon. While some other brands may release dozens of touchscreen phones in a year, Apple simply offers one new model every year, yet most people can recognize the users of iphones.
If u are agree that company should release one phone per year, I can't imagine what the outcome will be. If so, chances are she would have absolutely NO idea how to operate your beloved Symbian, or browse the internet using your non-touch SE phones (with such "super size" screen)

JaZzo, 22 Apr 2010Listen here anonymous..more specifically the one posting ab... moreAPPLE paved the way for all of todays high end cell phones?
how? touchscreen exist before iphone. Nokia, SE, HTC, LG, Motorola release touchscreen phone before Apple. I remember there are lots of touchscreen exist. O2, iPAQ, Treo, Eten, i-mate which come out touchscreen much much earlier than apple and they do release lots of it. In 2006, I can browse website using opera mini with my SE K750i.
Did anyone hear that sales of cell phone will decrease?
Of course it will increase every years. I'm sure next year the sales figure will increase.
"You know what else wasnt selling before APPLE created the iphone? or ipod touch? phone accessories, apps, etc"
phone accessories and apps were selling when i bought my Nokia 6610 during 2002.
Tell me how apple change the industry? The so called "revolutionized" was actually happening before iphone and iphone is just part of it.

Listen here anonymous..more specifically the one posting about how gsmarena are iphone lovers. Before the iphone no phones and i mean NO PHONES were selling anything comparable to what the iphone did no STILL DOES 3 or 4 years later since the original 2G release. You know what else wasnt selling before APPLE created the iphone? or ipod touch? phone accessories, apps, etc. APPLE paved the way for all of todays high end cell phones. Dont you think they deserve some recognition, maybe some fame, even a little favortism? I mean seriously. who knows where mobile phones would or electronics in general had the iphone or ipod touch never been created.
