Hmm, it would be MUCH better if it were a lock that prevented anyone not authorized to pull the trigger, BUT YOU still needed to mechanically pull the trigger if authorized.
What if the current system has a software glitch and fire by accident??

I think this mechanism can cost someone their life. In the time that they try to unlock their weapon, the criminal can attack them right away. Even worse if the bad guy has a gun.

your friend buys same weapon, accidentally mixes with your weapon. Comes a burglar, you take out this 'pistol' trying to trigger, says ur not the owner.

Fingerprint = energy = energy source = battery? so future pistols will have charging? will it have model with replaceable battery or it will be not replaceable battery?

This still doesn't solve anything. If the gun owner decide to make a wrong choice, then he/she can still commit a crime. What they could do instead is try to make an existing technology that is similar to an manga/anime series Psychopass.

Nice Idea, same thing is used in the series 'Continuum' where A woman from the year 2077 goed back to 2012 andere uses A pistol Sith fingerprint to use it, if soms else uses it the pistol gives an electric shock to the one holding it.

It's a good idea for home owners with kids... I wonder why is it so bulky...you can either shoot some one or hurdle this towards their head...in either case you will take them down.

Sorry fellas but this technology has been off for 30 plus years and nobody even give a crap back then which means to me no one's going to give a crap about it now. The NRA has never successfully pushed this technology on anybody nor has the government there was also an option to wear a ring every time you had your gun to unlock the firing pin.
