HTC Windows Phone 8X won't receive Windows 10 Mobile update

12 January, 2016
Unsurprisingly, the device that's now more than three years old will not benefit from the rollout of the latest version of the OS.

HTC dropped Windows Phone support 2 years ago (to be honest I was expecting to see them renewing their contract with Microsoft...), so not even Windows Phone 8.1 (except the preview) is available on this device.
Your Nokia Lumia 710, as any Windows Phone 7.x device, can not be upgradable to Windows Phone 8 due to hardware compatible issues, can not deny that's a very awkward situation and very upsetting to all WP7.x users... sad. This situation was not very welcome even inside Microsoft, it won't happen again, that's why even the very low budget Windows Phone 8 devices (like Lumia 520) will receive the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.

(Hope you understand what I just said here [My English is not that good and I apologize for that very reason])
I hope someday you give yourself a second chance to Windows Phone (Windows Mobile once again).

My HTC 8X was flagship, not budget. No WP10.
I have no more trust in Windows Phone as a platform.
For premium price, might as well get iPhone. For budget price, might as well take my chances on Android with better ecosystem. Windows Phone give no benefits over those two platforms.

I spent quite a bit on the Lumia 710, which got abandoned and did not even get WP8.
Then I spent money on HTC 8X, and got abandoned as well.
And those are not just some no name OEMs. Those are the primary Windows Phone partner brands. Can you convince me to spend money again on Windows Phone platform? Not a chance.
At least your cheap Android tablet still have more apps.

Not to mention iPhone sells 3/4th of that annually .

Truth is , MS itself has lost all interest in windows phone.

The HTC 8X was sold as a flagship in the US, $200 with 2-yr-contract. This shows that at premium price, might as well get an iPhone.
