HTC Windows Phone 8X won't receive Windows 10 Mobile update

12 January, 2016
Unsurprisingly, the device that's now more than three years old will not benefit from the rollout of the latest version of the OS.

Sadly but expected, if I remember right the update to 8.1 also wasn't without struggling. HTC should bring new Windows powered devices with HTC tech and design. And I'm not talking about an existing HTC phone putting Windows on it.

AnonD-487798, 12 Jan 2016HTC does not want to support the phone anymore, that's one ... moreMicrosoft would do it as they want it to run on everything, the hardware can handle it fine it's 3 years old , my 6 year old pc runs win 10 faster than 7 and that's 6 year old!.
HTC is not committed might want to consider updating their "mission statement"

the oldest phones MS support for windows 10 is ones that are Dual core cpu 512mb ram with atleast 8gb internal storage, though the os doesn't take 8gb ram at all.
htc 8x meets all of the the requirements for the upgrade

The Nokia Lumia 920 came out at the same year as the HTC 8X and its getting the Windows 10 mobile update also it has same specs but with 32GB. HTC sucks

XDA will manage to port W10 at some point.

HTC does not want to support the phone anymore, that's one thing. But I wonder if there is any hardware limitation, something like a directx 10.x compatible gpu. This phone is still better than anything below the lumia 9xx series.

AnonD-40735, 12 Jan 2016WP is fail! Sorry Microsoft! But you get money from Android! This phone is terribly old for HTC to bother to update it.
Atleast it got 8.1 (enough to use Cortana)
It had a good run. Move on now.
