awi11, 16 Jan 2016The real reason LG had this design for the G5 is because LG... moreWhat do you mean "power efficient" ? Please define that. My note 5 barely lasts a day, and the Xperia Z5 premium has a bigger battery than G4 and V10 which doesn't stay as long as Sony's marketing team are suggesting, but still not swappable. The fastest way to recover to 100% is by a swappable battery, specially if your on the go or camping, so I don't get the point you are trying to make. Plus if you check the battery endurance rating of Gsmarena the V10 got 56h while the Xperia z5 premium got 66h. Totally explains what I'm trying to say, there is no fairytale magic recipe.

The real reason LG had this design for the G5 is because LG couldn't make their phone as power efficient as Samsung and Sony, so they insist in a design that allow to change battery:)

Ben, 14 Jan 2016No no no!!! the G4 is perfection!!! please don't slim it do... moreI agree, the slimmer our smartphones are, the less ergonomic they become. G4 is actually quite pleasing in hand with its curved backplate.

And next thing you know "in an effort to slim it down even further" they put in a 1500mAh battery because you can now switch it out anyway if you want! (Just watch out not to cut yourself on the edges of our edgy slim ass phone (that can now be used as a kitchen knife (checkmate apple)))

As a G3 owner, i'm happy with everything except the software, worst than lagwiz even.
they should consider software as more important factor if they want me to buy another LG. same goes for Samsung, i'm waiting to see what touchwiz will do in S7. Nexus sw is perfect but the HW is far from competition, it never feels premium in your hand, doesn't matter if it's all Aluminum or plastic!!! and no wonder why people go for iOS

Every one who's saying it's a innovation, it's not. HTC did it first but kudos for implementing it in a modern flagship device.

I wonder if other manufacturers already thought about this idea..
Regardless, LG tries to innovate here, with risks of course..
It's still better than taking compromise like what Apple and Samsung did.
