27 April, 2010
We are sure all of you are already familiar with the tale of the lost and found iPhone 4G prototype. It seems Apple won't give up until "justice" is served to all, whose hands touched the device, despite the...

If you buy something that's stolen that's also a crime.

If you publicise it all over the Internet, then that's just plain stupid.

Crimes are a police matter and have nothing to do with Apple.

Apple are slowly going down. This is in the same line of the comments of jobs regarding android and pornography.

Please people, think before buying and by something else than Apple!

I like Apple's input into the competitive market, but I will not buy another item from them now. And I am a strong proponent of touchscreens.

honestly, I do not like Apple and Mr.Jobs... never did.
          Just don't trust the brand.
          Don't like - Don't buy.

But this is way too far!
I hope they found some rotten apples in dustbin and took them away as evidence.

Finally, the rotten side of fruit comes in front and that is ugly. I mean it is way too serious. The guy who was helping them become a criminal?

Apple has been openly drying pockets of innocent people by handing them a good fancy toy and making them believe it is THE BEST thing ever happened. Giving something that is not, and wrapped it around a good packing is what, Fraud?

I am glad they take this step and let us all see their faces. Speechless, I am in favor of Gizmodo and that guy who found the handset. And I am completely against Apple on this issue.

I know that you are a huge Apple, but at some point you need to stop being a iDouchebag like your master and be on peoples side. Gizmondo would never say that it was stolen. The Apple guy that had the phone, forgot his little bag in a bar, in which the phone was. Knowing Apple he didn't have the guts to report is lost before he explored all avenues, they would probably send him to Guantanamo Bay. Well, somm dude found it in bar and tried to return to Apple who hade no idea that their tester lost it and laughed it of. So this guy probably looked up local mobole and gadget websites in California and sold it. Maybe the guy who found it was a Blackberry user and had no use for i Iphone.

it was found and not stolen (get your facts) and they actually tried to return it to the company (wtf)

i never liked apple products because they have wayyyyy to many restrictions and they offer to little for the price tag, but this story changed my mind from disliking them to absolutely hating them

hope the public reaction will make them think twice about there strategy

This is disgusting on Apple's part. I honestly expected Apple to have let the issue lie as soon as they received the handset back, but clearly they'd rather throw their weight around because someone managed to break their precious internal security.

It's a CRIMINAL investigation, it is out of Apple's hands.

The police are investigating some 2 bit hack bloggers on a website who VERY publicly admitted to receiving stolen property, which is a criminal act under Californian law.

Apple can only take CIVIL action, which they haven't done.
