this does sound like promising device, and as expected from Nokia superb hardware.... but by the time Symbian ^3 is out, ANdroid 2.2 will be out also, and probably much more polished! ANd will run on also top-notch hardware leaving to Nokia only one advantage: superb camera!

This phone will need to go much closer to 300 euros if the want to sell it!

OMG reading some posts on here you'd think that phone has already hit the stores.
I remember toward the end of 2008 we got wind of the N97. The internet went crazy with blogs and all sorts rumours, then the phone hit the shelves and what a let down that was.
Personally will not get too excited till I check it out, Nokia are good at goofing things up.

Dazz, 27 Apr 2010I would like to say, it's not the mega pixles but the optic... morethis phone has biggest sensor seen in mobile cameras!!1/1.9" sensor is impressive koz some point n shoots still do 1/2.33"

I would like to say, it's not the mega pixles but the optics that cound, The satio 12MP was worse then my Omina HD i8910 8MP, yet the Xperia X10 was better then both.

Mega pixles are a gimick without good optics they might as well slap in a 3mp camera.

And btw, there are already other phones that have 8 and even 12mp cameras that take impressive photos as well. And have better OS's. And they're available NOW. So if nokia is competing with other phones in the camera feature category, they're kinda late :) Sorry.

Will be released 3rd qrtr this year, yet nokia fans are acting like it's available in stores tomorrow, lol. But yes, the picture samples do look great. I think it's good enough to replace standalone cameras. And the fact that it actually has xenon flash makes it even better. But 3rd qtr of 2010 is still a long ways from now. A lot of phones can be released in between now and then. But good luck :) Let's see how it fairs with the others.

                                ewww...
I'll Change my opinnion...i think i'll take this phone.
Its shame that an flag ship like n900 is, i feel that has been left hanging alone...no navigation on maps, poor camera interface....etc. Only good it has, is the qwerty and ful flash support and best web browser on a "phone"
But n8 looks awesome (to me) sound awesome etc. Camera should still have a lens cover. And how would the browser work? My 5800 chrashes allmost every start up... Allmost certain in somepoint of browsing. As of meny other symbia for nokia that i hawe been using....
The battery is surprising its little but allmost 400h of standby time. Talk time was something like 4-6h...
                                huge improvment.
If you dont belive me go to

Guys are you serious? The iphone is nothing and I mean nothing if you compare it to this monster. Nokia have finally released a phone that will crush the iphone big time, at least in Europe and Asia, the iphone will no longer be populer like before.

If you don't believe just wait and see, I think nokia did this on purpose, I mean wanted to release this at the same time of the iphone, to break them and shows them who are the real owners of the mobile world. Iphone was a great success indeed but nowadays it's just so so poor.

If you compare it with other handsets from other brands such as:

                                    1- Nokia N8
                                    2- SE X10
                                    3- HTC Desire
                                    4- Samsung Beam
                                    5- Moto droid

I mean it folks, all the previous handsets beat the iphone big time. I'm sorry iphone users but it's time to end the era of your little itoy and leave this world for the big boys. Also, I would like to dedicate the song big girls don't cry for you lool.

Still releasing ipods would be nice and useful :)

                                    Cheers!

I have nothing with the Nokia brand, but this one blew me away !

                                      HD video recording with 30FPS
12MP camera with Optical zoom and the quality of a true digital camera (If it's true)
                                      And A 16:9 3.5 nHD screen.

This sound way to good !
