So far the Nokia 5800 had been on the GSM arena top interest chart for a long time with an impressive 10 million plus hits. This N8 might become the first one to cross that landmark record!

INK, 27 Apr 2010The phone looks nice and specs for it are really impressive... moreThe transparency of that bar comes from the theme. A new transparent theme is all that is needed to make the bar see-through. At least thats how is works on my 5800 and is also probly how it is on the S^3

The phone looks nice and specs for it are really impressive. But one thing nokia could of done with Symbian^3 is make the task bar at the bottom of the screen transparent, it would make it look a lot better. But I am pretty sure this will get addressed by the community. Another reason why open source is awesome.

The design is nice!, it's colored aluminum people not some cheapy plastic. at least Nokia changes their design unlike Apple which never changes its iPhone design and even worse than that, the new iPhone flat edges makes it look so cheap! and it still the same design now that's bad

Mayby if the symbian^3 would be as good as iPhones.
i think it not....my experienses with symbian has been disappointing...

everything is fine with this stuff, but honestly why nokia is getting worse in design, or at least they can improve the user interface... kind of borring me..

Fantastic release!!! I waited all my life to get a mobile that will replace my digicam. Now the time has come! THANKS NOKIA!!!
The 5800 Xpress Music was a blockbuster and the N8 appears to be its true successor - provided that speech and sound quality match those of the 5800.
At 370 Euros, this is a bargain!

P.S. I just looked at the sample camera images. They are not just impressing, they are STUNNING! Such a good quality you even hardly get with dedicated digicams. And at 12 MP you really don't need an optical zoom. My only concern is lowlight quality, but that remains to be seen....

nokia n900 is 405 euro in romania, brand new, original, never locked on "grey market". this market is on internet advertising. the mobiles are introduced in romania thru customs with the accord of corupted custom's employees. so 405 euro for n900. n8 will be lower. just read:"http://gsm.rol.ro/anunturi/nokia-5800-pret-minim-200e-www.-officegsm.ro-%60%60.html"

It won't be that great,, they may include high spec'd camera on their phones, or even great video playback capability. But something more essentials is waiting to be redone. I mean, their ugly User Interface

But where is the cover for the optics?
My opinnion it's a major drawback...for such a capable digi snapper...
Oh well....must buy an shield for it

Hey guys i just noticed something funny
Nokia used the ARM 11 in alot of their phones capped at 369 - 600mhz non touch and the touch was capped at 434mhz
I'm wondering if nokia or someone can raise the clockspeed for all the touchscreens to atleast 600mhz since i think the Max clock speed for the ARM 11 is 800mhz
So if anyone can make a custom firmware to get all s60 5th clockspeed to 600mhz the n97 would be much better and same with the 5800
