noThe iphone does not need a cover. Its cam is so tiny you need a magnying glass to see it let alone damage!

The one thing stopping it from being a replacement for standalone camera is the lack of optical zoom.

I´ve published some comments about my first impressions on these sample pics, but I´ve realised that this new N8 has a serious desing flaw: besides not having any kind of lens cover, the whole camera area has a protusion that will be seriously prone to scratch when laid down against rough surfaces.
I cannot imagine Nokia doing that after the pretty effective solution found in the N82.
I know that there are cases where less is more. Not this time, though. This is a typical case where less is a lot less.

Low light quality would also be good I believe but I am not impressed with phone's design. Hope next time they come up with same camera specs and great design. At least now I can believe Nokia's are superior in camera department too. But Nokia, fire up you designers please or hire me!

Wow...the image quality is jaw dropping for a cameraphone (if they were indeed taken by the N8).
But I'm not big of Symbian since their support for their devices (Nokia, SE, Samsung, etc.) seems too inconsistent. I know they support Nokia phones better but it sucks that they don't do equally a good job with other manufacturers, such a shame.
Android here I come!
