Eske Rahn, 20 Jan 2016Oh come on... Everyone can bring their phone/phablet/tablet... moreYou know its not that linear. Plus, name the brands who actually kill your warranty if you do it and they happen to detect it.
Like I said before, you can, but you are not supposed to, and most brand don't want you to.
And once again, to end it, I prefer 1000 times, a brand who keeps my phone on the latest OS version for 4 to 5 years, even if my phone gets a little slower, than to spend 600€ and then feel outdated not even 6 months after.

Sorry dude but calling yourself 'Android Hero' and then expecting to be taken seriously on a thread regarding iOS is a bit of a stretch eh?

Why don't you stick to all things android, where apparently you are in someway, a hero!

Well I've never seen an Android flagship lag or be choppy so soon after sale, maybe after a couple of years of usage & when it is succeded by faster phones, then maybe yes. But this can be mitigated.

But calling him intellectually dishonest may not be fair. Probably he knows how to root and install custom ROMs and it must be so simple (I don't know about it) that he assumed it is not a problem at all for android users, even though it is.

Android phones are luck... moreActually, youre wrong , i have had 3 major updates and they fix stuff and don't slow your device down. Same can't be said for older iphones and ipads. Can you download a song directly from a website on your device? Can you drag and drop anythign you want onto your phone memory or even add extra storage? How much exra must you pay to buy a higher storage capacity device? The list can go on and on. By the way , i am no fanboy, i have an iphone and ipad mini 3 and an Android device. The things i can do on my Android { a whole lot } compared to the things i can do with my iphone doesn't come close. I like my iphone lots and my android. Grow up and get a life. If it circulates around bashing other people about what os or device they use then you are a sad lonely waste of space stealing oxygen from the earth.

I see a lot of comments here from people bashing Android for their update program. Not quite sure why, a lot of the updates impliment new features & Google will fix bugs/issues should they arise, as Apple are doing now. Also, despite the fact that there is fragmentation of Android (due to the fact that so many devices & device manufacturers use Android) a lot of the update issues can be circumvented by rooting your device & flashing a new ROM on it. (Go on XDA Developers & have a look)

With the exception of the White D00Rs firmware, (which can only be used on very old iOS devices) once an iOS device has stopped receiving updates, it's obsolete.
