Good SoC always means better performance. You just need to use the right software to make use of the extra resources there.
Think of a fast car, trying to run it on a rural road it would only make it seem slow, run it to a highway and it will *always* be faster than the PoS that Qualcomm SoCs are.

It's obviously downclocked, it makes sense too, imagine if one version of Galaxy S7 was 50% faster than another. I always thought that using SD820 was bad news, that's quite a bad SoC even from pre-release scores.
Next best SoC, Mediatek X20 and Kirin 950. It's not even the case that they're that good, it's only the case that Samsung keeps keeping themselves back by using Qualcomm to their phones.

Exynos is better quality and more stable so that's more important than a few extra points.

Don't forget Mate 8 has only FHD display that clarifies some things up.

It is impossible for Kirin 950 to take 8890 out in anyway...
But...
There are alternative ways, so you can raise your score up.
It is against everything what we know about tech, Mali T880MP4 isn't powerfull than T880MP12 and, samsung's flagship phones carrying UFS 2.0 and most fastest DDR4 memory chips.
And...
Samsung mongoze was %30 faster than ARM's A72 core, what happened than A72 become faster...
I want to see, 3D mark test and detailed info about both devices...
This is just for manupilating people...

I really don't know why even Samsung is releasing 2 different versions of their S7 flagships. Why are they not choosing either Exynos or Snapdragon 820. It is little misleading to me. Samsung has SD820 for US market and Exynos for Asia pacific region.

Even if S6 has more Power under the hood. Nexus 6p is little bit smoother because of in-house optimization straight from google. As Google is a software company and they are best when it comes to optimizing their own Operating system. Same for Apple. They are best at optimization.

Samsung could have demanded that, but I doubt Qualcomm would be stupid enough to backstab their other customers in the back by doing that.

Since Qualcomm bought the license right from Samsung, Samsung also reserve the rights to exclusively launch their SD 820 device for the Q1 of 2016.

Both phonearena and gsmarena are incredible. Creating articles, graphs from pre-release, test scores. I remember 820 scores were once near to 1000 in GB few months back. When something is not final, it's irrelevant to judge them.

The real game in the soc world is only in between Snapdragon and Exynos, Kirin can't even match their GPU power with its low core GPU (T880 MP4). Other 2 can handle any game that u throw it. I doubt the same about Kirin though. Hope Huawei up their game in GPU dept om 960

Could this be due to the fact that Samsung is going to use both Exynos and SD versions in S7? Usually Samsung downclocks the Exynos version so that CPU benchmark scores are matched between Exynos and SD versions.
