[deleted post]Ofcourse Apple leads in profits. It sells many other high profit products othen than the iphone. Whu are you comparing the profits of this large computer company against Nokia which sells only phone and a few other low profig sevices? Compare iphones sales revenue against nokia. Unfortunatly you cannot find it on the web because apple would not publish it.

Iphone does not have a higher sales revenue than Nokia. Its is apple, the large computer manufaurer selling, macs, macbooks, apps, ipads, iphones and ipod, that has a higher revenue than nokia, a company selling phones any a very few other services. How is this comparision fair. Try comparing the revenue on iphone vs nokia to see who is the winner. If you count this way, imagine the revenueof lg, samsung and sony.

I think Symbian is on its way out. It'll be relegated mostly to developing world markets.

Here on in, it'll be about Android, Blackberry OS and the iPhone OS.

Would have been far more interesting if they put up profit share. How many units they sell is irrelevant if they aren't making enough money to stay in buisness and innovate.

For The Apple fanboys who are saying why Nokia hasn't released a touch screen before the iphone, they released touch screen phones of like the 7770 and 6708. LG released a capacitive phone the prada before the iphone but it didn't get any hype from the media because LG is not an American company. Look at American companies, Apple, MS and Motorola always get hyped especially Apple but you never hear of Nokia, Samsung, maybe a little about HTC.

Why Apple didn't put copy and paste, multi tasking, mms, file organizer, video recording back then ?. Apple only sells millions in US because Americans are brainwashed by corporations.

And by the way, DO NOT give me the nonsense about never used a Iphone. My little sister has Iphone 3GS which i won won on a morning radio show and gave to her. Everything on that phone is done by me, everything from OS updating to j-breaking, and app hunting on Ice and A--ulo(which by the way is closed down). I know all to well what iPhone is about, so drop that.

Anonymous, 04 May 2010You still haven't answered my question as to WHY the almigh... moreAnd yet again

"The 3G touchphone massmarket was opened up by phones like LG Viewty and some Samsung models in 2007.

It was the natural progression of things, Nokia started tweaking Symbian Touch for 3G already in 2007. It's not like Apple invented 3G"

                        next time read...!

When the LG Prada came out in Jan 2007 and Viewty came out it was making alot of hype around touchscreen cameraphones and Nokia made a survey on the websites where like 9/10 people didn't want N-series to turn into touchscreens, so they had to move over the fokus on some other series and started bulding Xpress Music over again from the ground along with a new Symbian touch, it took them over a year as it is with Nokia.

N-series users which are predominately coporate people still don't like the idea of full touchscreens therefore N-series still has qwerty for alot of typing. Typing on a full touch is useless cause the keyboard on the screen tales up like 80% of the screen wether u are writing email, webbrowsing etc. You want to see what you are writing on the screen and how it pans out, not in a square bubble.

Thatäs why N8 will fail with N-series fans but might appeal to others.

How come Apple didn't put 3G in their phone until LG released Viewty 3G? How come Apple didn't release a touchscreen phone until first massmarket LG Prada invaded the US market and created a big hype?

This can go on and on without end, and i have still said that it's natural progression of developement in the buisness, you can't give credit to any single company for anything, even though has pioneered most existing technologies on phone today, which is the reason all major phonemakers have to pay royalty to Nokia for using their patents for ever single phone they make.

Next year Nokia is implementing a new patented technology in their phones and when other brands use that technology the will have to pay royalty.

Well i'm done on this thread, can't be bothered anymore with iFans and iApples, they never made sense in their arguments always reaching for petty insignificant stuff to pump up the mediocre ability of their iTaps.

It's like getting a car without having license to drive. 3G is still faster than 4G. Believe me, my city poineered 4G network long before anybody else and i have a Samsung dongle for it on my laptop.

Putting 4G on a phone like in 1-2 years makes no sense, doing it now is completely useless and i wish you luck with buying a phone "just because it has".

The phone brands top-notch professionall engineers, you don't think any brand can put 4G in their phone if they wanted to? They don't cause it makes no sense right now. HTC already released a WIMAX 4G phone last year, which sold like 10 units or something. So it's nothing new.

Research firm Piper Jaffray has released a survey today that includes the results of 448 launch day iPad buyers, and it appears that most are what could be considered Apple "fanboys."

74 percent of the buyers were current Mac users, and 96 percent of those were completely satisfied with their Mac computers.

66 percent of the buyers own iPhones. 13 percent owned Amazon Kindle e-readers but 58 percent were set to replace it with the iPad.

The most popular model purchased was the cheap $499 16GB model, at 39 percent of all buys, followed by the more expensive 32GB model at 32 percent.

74 percent of all buyers will use the iPad for Internet surfing, with 38 percent using the device for e-book reading.

I swear to god anyway with a proper brain would never go with the iphone. It's just impossible, it make no sense at all!!! Either he is a noob and no nothing about tech and therefore he thinks the iphone is the best. Or either he is someone that has a little amount of intelligence and thinks he made the right choice hehehe.

Pls stop it already, the iphone is going to die soon, andriod handsets are already killing the 4G before it is even released. Days alone will only prove our point, so in the meantime let's just leave the kids play and enjoy their itoy :)

I see no reason other than the almighty brand simply got jealous of the success of Apple, and suddenly came out with half a dozen touchscreen 3G devices, yet probably none could match the sales of any iphone 3G/3GS.

And if the almighty brand was so successful in terms of touchscreen technology, why it only released ONE touchscreen 7710, which was almost nowhere to be found?

if the almighty brand is so famous to make "a phone for everyone", why there is no more touchscreen "2G" phone from the company?

You said 3G tech talk is pointless, yet you brought out all the specs of N8 being the fastest or whatever...

And I can tell you, most people out there don't care how fast a phone goes on PAPER, if it can go fast but always hangs, it's pointless.

And if you take a blind test, can you tell the difference between 2 cars, one with 140hp and another with 170hp? Does the spec on "paper" make the "real" difference?
