HTC One M10 to follow A9 design trend

26 January, 2016
The handset is apparently still in development and heading to AT&T, but will most likely miss MWC 2016.

HTC, if the rumours are correct then I am impressed right up until the point with the talk of changing the design to follow the A9. I don't want an HTC that looks like an iPhone, I want a HTC that looks like an evolution from the M series like it should.

HTC...... Please please please disappear from the A9 design. The X9 looks ok, but the A9 looks too much like an iphone. Your marketing in Canada is almost non-existant except for what people see on youtube or by word of mouth, and because of that, if someone sees a phone from a manufacturer that they haven't heard of putting out a device which looks like an iphone, at that point it's no longer you putting out a flagship device, you're now seen as a knock off iphone company. I have an m7 and love it, I'm now torn between getting the m9 or wait for this new one. I've gotten people to buy the m8 as well as the m9. But if I wanted to buy a phone that looked like an iphone, I would buy an iphone. Just personal opinion.

This is why HTC is on the down curve for the last two years (or even more). Zero (almost) changes, unreasonable screen-to-size ratio and top level price point. Look at LG and Chinese competitors like Huawei and One+ and learn... I like you HTC - but - I'm sorry HTC.

Phones are all alike nowadays. It's just a big screen and that's it. Several years ago it wasn't like that yet, although touch phones were upcoming, the designs were quite different. An HTC Touch Diamond looked completely different compared to a Samsung F480 for example.

Funny how people forget things isn't it? Everyone saying that this device looks like an iphone.

The problem with this is that apple were the ones who copied in the first place, this design isn't new, but it certainly wasn't apples to be stolen from.

                              Read a little please people.

I agree with this but there are few things in that design that is something HTC innovated and were copied later by other phones. M10 is the only hope, else after 9 long years i Quit HTC and will move to Samsung for Galaxy Edge

With that said, the A9 borrows a lot from the iPhone 6. Sure, it looks great, but lack of innovation makes it looks like a cheap knock-off.

If the handset is delayed, I'll probably pick up a Galaxy S7 this year. Despite touch wiz looking like a game designed for children, Samsung have really upped their game lately.
