for sure htc speakers are the best in mobile and also headphones too.
I am a repair man and software tech.i have to tell you that htc has the best UI and in repairing sony is one of the most awful in repairing(also htc one series are hard but needs expert man not every baby).

How about whatever phone they like get less ram, a dimmer lower res display, a lower end grainy noisy terrible low light camera, a single core cortex a7 soc, or so on.

Don't romantize things!
HTC sales figure ain't pretty and they're in DO or DIE situation, and they need to follow the market trend, like it or not.. And only bunch of geeks here or at xda which swear for front speakers, but...
Majority doesn't care great stereo speaker more than GREAT CAMERA, SCREEN to BODY RATIO, SLIM BEZEL and GREAT BATTERY LIFE.
HTC's are beautiful no doubt but their camera AWFUL & the built TOO TALL for the likes of MAJORITY.
HTC finally wake up and hopefully they'll adjust to the market trend, but still with distinctive features which makes them "Quitely Brilliant"

Just use external amp and speakers or at least headphones. Never the built-in speakers, unless those are the only ones at hand.

And the Nexus 6 was quite a lot louder. While not having a large difference in quality and you can turn and down and tweak it to sound better. And yes most people use equalizers

OK, so, similar to A9 (so iPhone 6), no front facing speakers, home button AND soft keys (that's poorly implemented) It's not only stupid but ugly. I'm wondering as a consumer what is HTC thinking. What would make me buy this over S7, or the next Nexus? Every year every phone had at least one key feature that would separate it from the competition. What is it on the M10?
