iPhonish design is not the way to go, even if you say Apple copied HTC design. I will never buy.
If I want iPhone, I buy iPhone. If I don't have money, but want iPhone, I buy used iPhone or chinese iPhone like phone. HTC will not be cheap.
Keep M9 design, cut bezels and HTC logo and that's it.
Look at Huawei, they look at Apple but make a little bit different design, very nice.

I think HTC got a lot of things right. Great size, powerful soc, ois... I'm not a big fan of hi res screens, 1080p is more than adequate for a 5in phone. I love AMOLED screens though. I'm going to wait on reviews, because the last time around I skipped HTC because they dropped the ball in the camera department and soc choice. But so far it looks good on paper.

I think they going in the right direction. Im just hoping for a very great new design, no boomsound is a killer but im sure other aspects of the phone will more than make up for it. Cant wait to check out the camera...seems promising id say

Bad move removing the front facing speakers. Could have placed the fingerprint sensor on the back, or maybe do something like Sony did with the Z5.
Approve the 12mp ultrapixel camera though, hopefully this time HTC gets it right with its camera. Also 1080p would have been more than sufficient for a 5.1" screen, QHD just consumes more battery without making that much of a viewing difference.

I'm pretty sure this phone is going to come with lot of disadvantages than other flagships going to come this year. Apparently this isn't going to steal the thunder. Still going to be a good phone though. HTC has it's way of screwing things up.

I hope the battery is not below 3000 mAh or else the specs will be downgraded by its battery. But removing its signature speakers in front is not a good idea at all! Why can't they put the fingerprint censor at the back or at the side so that the most loved front speakers must not compromised. And, wishing that it will have dual sim not the hybrid one who uses the other sim tray as the 2nd sim slot. With all these considerations, i am willing to sell my iPhone to buy this item soon...

Why in Earth would they remove their speakers?
And it would be about time that they moved to a 12mp ultra pixel camera. Better still be 2um sized or its no advantage over others. And at least f1.9. They just need to improve their image processing

Nice specs.
Wanted a 5.5" screen minimum.
No boom sound? I can live with that.
UPixel cam? Jury's out.
Overall, shaping out to be a nice flagship phone.

How can it be a HTC One without the front-stereo speakers?
That was a money maker for the M7 and the distinctive point that carried all newer generations.
So they are going for UltraPixel... again. I would be more concerned about stating that full resolution is achievable both in 16:9 and 4:3 (like the new Sony sensor that equips the Z5) rather than insisting in a moniker that doesn't bring any found memories.
Credit where it is due, OIS both front and back should be a nice touch, the microSD slot should be highly important for UHD videos and the overall "bundle" of SD820 with 4GB of RAM should also play very nice.
IMHO: I know Apple copied from you, but please don't make this yet another iPhone 6 look-alike. There will be a hoard of Chinese devices carrying that look, don't be another droid fighting in that market (because you will lose, as yours is supposed to be a premium device on its own, not yet another cheap look-alike).

Removing the BoomSound is a stupid move. Even if they're using the new design they should at least keep the dual speakers.
