Google apparently wants to exert more control over the Nexus program

Not having a removable battery and no microSD card slot is an automatic no from me. And to piss me off even more, Google squeezes the OEMs for profit on their Nexus lines to the point that the OEMs usually get shafted hard. Google is becoming a dick, I really hope their "more control" shtick stops.

Doesn't matter. The Nexus phones are only available in limited market, and even then, markets outside the US see their prices highly inflated.

Note there is no sdcard or removable battery such as the LG G4 and other devices popular with consumers. That tells us consumers aren't what google had in mind for the nexus line

lg messed up with plastic build again. if 5x was better build like aluminium or glass, probably would've sell more than 6p even with lower spec. this why google should takeover, have total control

I hope this rumor is true. And yes, I like the idea of them taking control over their Nexus line. It could either spell more affordable Nexuses (than it currently is marketed for) or draw space-and-rocket-high out-of-this-dimension Apple-like prices. On another note, I hope they do the same thing with their One program. Maybe, we could see $50 Ones

The Samsung Nexus devices were the crappiest, most plasticy, cheapest of the Nexus devices, with terrible call/audio quality. A huge step down from the original Nexus One by HTC and nowhere near as good as the LG Nexus 4 and 5. Every Nexus device not by Samsung has been better.
