2nd largest haaaah? and the no. 1 company who rule Indian market is samsung.
the samsung don't even care about Indian people.. so other foreign company. they launch every other new product after 2-3 months.... i mean what thaa...
new galaxy A series is out now in those country.. which is smaller in population and area compare to some Indian state!! they always bring us new tech and gadget to India when new even another new tech is about to come. i mean how can they treat India like this... ???
but don't worry local company like micromax giving them knock out punches.... this micromax company is just kid in phone budget although they increase so high... and samsung is lossing market percentage which should happen... china company like Huawai, xolo, xiomi, incredibly rising in Indian market. i wish samsung loose their nol. 1 position or have to share their place. so they can learn hard lesson.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2016I would look at that as being smart with your money. You ar... moreImage? So when other countries think us as 'cheap', that doesn't concern you? How many times we Indian ourselves have said these words, "don't buy that cheap Chinese garbage, not worth it", yet that same cheap Chinese products are flooding our market.
Those who can't afford a good phone which is highly priced, OK, settle with some cheap stuff, but the main problem is even the people who can easily afford a mid-high range phone, settle for a poor product nowadays. That is nothing but a disgrace.

In fact crappe is as well much cheaper to produce than Android flagship devices. The only luxury thing about iphones is their price, all other luxury qualities were since surpassed by almost any major Android maker.

This article is a little misleading. While India may have surpassed the US in total smartphone units shipped, the US still dwarfs India in actual revenue from smartphone sales (thanks largely to Apple and Samsung, their overpriced phones, and the sheeple that buy them).
India has a population that's 4-times larger than that of the US, and anything with a touchscreen and Android is now considered a smartphone (there are plenty of sub-$100 Android smartphones out there). This isn't really a milestone.

The post never said Sony, it said Samsung and truly Samsung has been the dominant smartphone in India with J7 series and On series ad other high end Samsung smartphones.
