Awesome news, it would be unbelievable if 1st gen G would be getting it as well. It's basically the same phone as the 2nd gen, so I can't see how that would be hard to do.

The amount of free RAM after the 6.0 update has very low. I get only 200mb, prior to the update I had around 400 to 500 mb of free RAM.

Updated to Android 6.0 some hours ago. The installation process took some time, but my general impression so far has been positive. App loading is slightly faster, and reloading isn't as bad as what I used to experience on Lollipop. Will have to check on the battery life improvements though. Overall, happy to receive the update to a phone that is over a year old, on par with Samsung's release schedule for the Galaxy S6. Thanks Moto!

Updated my moto g 2nd gen to marshmallow and will recommend everyone to update. It has inbuilt file manager so when you will insert an otg pendrive it will detect readily and you will be able to explore your pendrive without the need of any third party file explorers. Not to mention the fact that the phone feels way more snappier than before. Thanks moto...

Proud to be a motorola device owner. Motorola is the quickest in upgrades and does not abandon its budget phones... My next phone is also gonna be a Moto. Thanks for the update.
