Its a good thing. Samsung is manufacturing their Exynos, new Snapdragon 820. Thats a lot of SoCs! If they manufacture Apple's A10, it will be about 80% of all major SoC manufactured by 1 company! Thats too much work & pressure :P

It's a fashion accessory that you can't even bluetooth a photo off of let alone anything really worth the processing power they put inside of it. People go on about Samsung using "sneaky tactics to get higher CPU benchmarks" whilst under the guise of saying "I'm not a paranoid, deluded, brand loyalist" and then rant and rave about the GPU prowess of the iPhone 6s which has 4 times less resolution to deal with. Never owned such a useless device in all my life, though it does make a pretty paperweight as most people with Error 53 have discovered. Thanks Sammy for showing me what a smartphone should be about by covering all the bases.

Since Samsung AND Global Foundries beat TSMC to market on the 14/16nm FF process node (Exynos 7420 anyone), I would believe the only 'IP' this R&D manager could have transferred was the amount TSMC was willing to charge per functional wafer of A9s and/or other related contract terms. This is still very useful and damaging info, and at the same time not technical at all.

From cheap hardware sold for astronomical prices (maybe)? That is right - the whole iphone cost as much in components as the Samsung screen alone. Samsung considering their cutting edge technology phones is real bargains. Apple is terribly outdated with any aspect and only relies on blind fans and few pointless gimmicks.

TSMC already announced their plans for 10nm last year and are moving to 7nm after that. Samsung can't say anything more than they will get to 10nm at the end of the year.
Samsung stole the secrets to get to 14nm and then couldn't steal anymore to beat TSMC to 10nm. Just like they used information from their Apple lawsuit to try to extort money from Nokia. Samsung is a filthy, sleazy company.

My samsung s2 plus super amoled display wihich has high contrast, painted like icons crisp text natural color and 180¤ viewing angle, beat iphone 4s's and sony z1's poor display.
