Nexus One online sales stop, availability in stores increases

I just purchased the Google Nexus One online for my birthday. I can't wait to play with it. If it doesn't live up to my dreams and meet my expectations I will return it within 7 days.

I own and have used a Nexus One since it first came out. I find it really crappy. To start their email client program really sucks. When you get an incoming email, you cannot edit and then forward. The original email received gets forwarded as an eml attachment and whtatever you write is separated as text. Whereas in iPhone or Blackberry, you can edit right on the incoming email and then re forward.
Then comes other features like their media player, it is much more complicated to use than an iPhone especially when dealing with playlist and movies.
Backup really sucks. Instead of like iPhone where you just plug into your PC and iTunes takes care of it, you need to manually backup each time you want to.
And their Wifi detector is good for nothing. Unlike iPhone where it instantly jumps on recognized hot spots. Nexus keeps forgetting and you need to nearly do it each time manually. It ocasionally works and jumps automatically but more than half the time, you still need to do it manually.
Final conclusion: Never touch this or any android product and sorry guys iPhone is trillion times better than this piece of shit.

The nexus one is the best of the best HTC andriod phone on the market ,i am in jamaica and i got the nexus one 3 weeks after it was release. it worth every penny i spent for it .

Yes well i brought a HTC Desire after they wouldnt sell in Australia !!! Silly people !!!!!! Would have brought one otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!

s one hinder the fast response of getting an upgrade since it's going to be sold with a service provider? Updates like Android os and it's firmware?

I wish Google would have hung in there. Its not like they're worried about losing money! Selling an unlocked phone directly to customers online was a great step towards breaking the unholy lock the carries have on us. I hate SIM locked phones, even if they are subsidized. The carriers cripple the phones. The Nexus One is one of the best smartphones out there, heads and shoulders above the iPhone and its Apple lock in, and even better than subsidized Android phones. Hopefully it will remain available unlocked, perhaps at Best Buy or other retailers.

Shame hey stopped selling it online, but its good they're selling in store. this is a great phone and once you handle it, you know its a great phone.

the nexus one was an experiment, nothing more. That's why it lacked advertising. The idea was to see how far google could sell a phone over the internet and not in stores.

And still they haven't shipped it world wide. I am really suprised with this lack of service from google. They shouldn't have done it unless they can please their customers...

I don't think it's smart for them to discontinue online sales altogether, especially when Google had the best unlocked price point for the product. Ebay prices are manipulative, to say the least. Even after the release of the Desire and the upcoming release of the Galaxy S, I was still contemplating getting a Nexus One, but the thing that kept holding me back was negative word of mouth in terms of craftsmanship. My last four devices have been unlocked so it's not about the hands-on experience for me. But when I keep reading about faulty power buttons and software keyboards that go haywire, I can't invest in such a device whether I were to buy a warranty or not. HTC is known for quality builds, which leaves me wondering if they wanted to make sure the Desire and the Incredible would be more popular than the Nexus One in every way....

I´m so mad at this companies that do not take in consideration small countries like mine: Costa Rica! I know we are small but we should get the option to buy it online... but I guess that is not an option any more!
