Do you know why cropped pictures look blurry with 12MP as opposed to the 16MP? Try taking a picture of a book from far away.

Unedited cropped photo: 13MP ZTE camera VS 16MP LG V20. Tried this on a Galaxy S7 edge, book text are unreadable from same distance, I hate 12mp quality camera, camera should be 16mp with best lens,

picture of someone's license plate while driving. Tried it with the 12MP, the plate was unreadable. The 16MP was able to capture it. Important if you need to report a bad driver or capture evidence.

BTW the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge/S7 Active, Note 7 camera sucks. It's only good because of the dual pixel technology, otherwise the 12MP camera was unsatisfactory, picture quality looked reduced from the previous year's model. My eyes can see the sharpness difference.

Now a sensor like this at a higher resolution in the zoom with 10 or 12x optical zoom is where it will be at.
In fact just slap that on the Note and then we are talking.

AnonD-370943, 22 Feb 201612MP camera?? This is the same gimmick as HTC's Ultra Pixel... moreIf you knew about cameras you would know that in order to reduce noise at higher ISOs to get better low light performance you have to lower your MP count. This is a good move on their part, and this is coming from an iPhone owner, as a photographer I really love what Samsung is doing, smart move to lower the MP count and bump up ISO capacity and lower your f/ stop.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016S6, G4 has advantage over 808 in what area? the gimmicky HD... moreThis simply isnt true the pixel count only affects the sharpness. For example my LG G2 takes great photos with its 13mp camera but my friends newer iphone 6 takes much better photos with its 8mp camera 90% of the time. This is due to there being more factors than pixel count in overall image quality.

AnonD-370943, 22 Feb 201612MP camera?? This is the same gimmick as HTC's Ultra Pixel... moreYou cant just look at number of pixels for quality anymore that ultra pixe shit was garbage because it was to low one pixel count. But 12 not so much. The iphone 6 had an 8mp camera for example but the other specs made it overall one of the best cameras of the time, and samsung will do the same i am sure

No comments on the "1/2,000s" picture?? If all the others are fake/shoped sample pictures, what about that one? I tried that shutter speed on my Note 5 and for the most part there is only a black image on the screen, so this new camera is THAT much better in low light than the "old" Note 5 and similar Samsung devices? I find it hard to believe it was taken with the Phone too.

I think that picture was taken by the rear cam on a tripod. look at the left portion of the image. the edge is parallel to the edge of the window which is hard to accomplish when holding the phone with one hand.

12MP camera?? This is the same gimmick as HTC's Ultra Pixel. Samsung is really going backwards. They really wanna piss off their fans. First they used smaller batteies and removed sd card expansion. Now they lowered the camera. You just can't argue numbers or pixel count.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016S6, G4 has advantage over 808 in what area? the gimmicky HD... moreyes Nokia's humongous 41MP monster is the best camera for still photos in daylight. It is inferior for videos - it cannot even record 2160p (probably chipset limitation, not a sensor) and currently it was already surpassed in low light performance. Faster focus in not gimmick - what is the point of your monstrous 41MP picture, which takes a lot of space if it is out of focus? Again current gen flagships has better OIS, low light performance, focus, gamma, depth. In controlled conditions on the stand Nokia's camera will beet every other camera by having "technically" better pictures, but in real life that is likely to be exactly opposite.

I will be sacrificing zoom though, but overall, my DSLR is not missed.

Im a bit skeptical about that selfie shot on the couch, The angle doesn't seem right. Unless the guy is Mr. Fantastic where he was able to manage to curve his arm and center the camera. Usually the one taking the picture would appear bigger but they are all proportional which suggests that the camera was in the middle parallel to the couch.

Ok fine. I lied and you were right....the 808 and 1020 cameras do take perfect photos. They beat every phone camera in every way. And since they take perfect photos they even great out the best high end Dslr cameras and even our eyes.

As long as the data recorded by their camera is inferior compared to the data recorded by the massive 41MP pureview sensor their picture will never come near 808.. Post process all you want, the image might appear fancier but if you look closely at the details it is still subpar compared to the 808

Dunno what people are seeing but the shots are soft in many areas, no sharp details. Then there is that oil painting effect of post-processing clearly visible around the people's noses. Some kind of annoying beauty effect or something. S6 didn't have this. The same issue is seen with the LG G5, both new phones from both camps being worse than last year's flagships. Will need to wait for retail version reviews to see if these symptoms persist.
