well for me lg did it great... came with a smaller screen, excellent quality display..camera does its job as always..aluminiun is premiun...able to change battery amazing who cares about additional size from 2800 mah if u can chnage it and thats it.... even it has dedicated audio capabilities.... if we take a look at samsung ..s7 is great but just an upgraded s6...they should call it s6 s due to looks an iphone .... besides water resist is a feature that not all people want.. insted battery we can chnage and sd card support .... but it is boring for me ... it uis a good phone but is jut hardware upgrade nothing else ...... but lg took a risk changing phisics and giving to us a modular desing .. it is unique .... and has the best processor in the market ... for me lg is this year champion.... i have a G2 and the only device worth an upgrade for me is G5

Extra battery pack reminds me of egg like ancient cellphone batteries which looks weird. It is not so practical (Seeing such a big package warns if the battery life will be short again).
DAC pack seems a proper addition if able to deliver 2VDC audio output with very high level of quality to feed audiophile grade amplifiers properly (and hopefully having a price tag of 100-USD at maximum).
LG made the same mistake of releasing the phones with very high prices and reducing them gradually later on. If this behaviour happens again, I would wait for 5-6 months (or maybe until G6 is released).

abc, 22 Feb 2016well.. Lg doesnt produce slippery phone with blurry edges c... moreWell Z5 takes the widest pictures in the world of smartphones, so a bit of distortion at the edges is acceptable if you consider that. Other phones don't take so wide photos, none so far! Hell even professional cameras doesn't take such wide photos, so?
And it's not slippery at all. Z3 was. Z5 has edges that prevent it from slipping from flat surfaces.
Anyway why the provoking? Many doesn't like G5, G4 is a beauty in comparison.

AnonD-499368, 21 Feb 2016Swappable battery but you have to turn the phone off. lol ... moreI agree, frankly speaking I also would want a phone with a larger battery without the fuss of changing it. But you should still give credit for LG trying to keep a selling point of their phones (swappable batteries) alive. Besides, the modular design can provide a new platform for developers to create accessories which can increase the capabilities of the phone itself. The HIFI DAC module and external camera module are just 2 of the many to come accessories.

I wanna see a full comparison review of Samsung Galaxy S7 versus LG G5! Who's the best?
I love Samsung but now we are not talking loyalty and alliance but practicality

I'm loving the concept, it's something fresh and new in an otherwise stale market where all that matters is power, screen, memory, and battery. On the other side though, that small battery worries me... I think I'll stick with my V10 for now and wait a while for more news before I decide to jump ship to the G5...

AnonD-81600, 21 Feb 2016I think it's about time to retire my G2. :)I also have a G2 and waited like forever for the G5, because G3 and G4 were too large for me, I don't want phablets.
However, a nasty surprise from LG: although the G5 has a smaller 5.3" screen, it has huge bezels and it is only 2mm narrower than the 5.5" G4, while being taller and thicker. On the other hand, the Galaxy S7 Edge is 1.5mm narrower than the G5, with a 5.5" screen. So the S7 Edge is what I'm getting (if it wasn't for the 3600 mAh batter, the S7 would have been an even better choice).
When LG released the G2, it had the narrowest bezels in the business and the largest battery. The G5 has probably the smallest battery and the thickest bezels from all flagships. Is this innovation ? Not from my point of view.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2016Dаmn LG. At first, I wanted to praise LG G5, but seeing tha... moreLG G5 is missing another very important feature. It does NOT have manual video controls (that you saw in LG V10). Shame LG.

The Reviewer, 21 Feb 2016What exactly are you not pleased with? lol..I have also rea... moreI agree. also I hate AMOLED because of the black crush. Seriously why has Samsung not ironed it out after years and years? or is this intentional? You won't be able to see important details in dark scenary.
Also I wonder what sort of modules they will bring, to be honest i can't think of any useful ones but then again I'm not creative enough.
