At least they have tried to bring new modules which users would probably enjoy. The reviews are not out yet. So whatever I stated is my personal understanding about this unit. Users or haters could still complain like ugly looking design, external camera bump, bad bezel design etc. The design did some justice considering the features it has got to offer. I know still lot of people whining about non removable battery, bad battery back up and so forth. But when some phone manufacturer cares to come up with a phone which is feature oriented and design what some of the customers want. It is appreciable. You cannot expect a ton of features from a smartphone, even if somebody comes up with one, They won't be able to stand in competition for a long time. It is all about the smart marketing strategy. For people who don't like, there is a s7 or iphone 6 or 7.. Good day !

I think design is subjective opinion. For example I don't like any of iphone design, galaxy s6 design but like lg g5 and galaxy s7 design.

At every start there are mistakes but they can learn about it and improve in the future.

Looks like you are not pleased with my opinion. I'm neither iPhone or Samsung fan, I own LG G3 and Lumia 930(not a fan of any phone maker). It would have been nice, that they made their flagship phone(G5) in line with previous generations(G2, G3, G4), this phones feels like a different series, like they were working on some side project and someone decided at last minute to push it as G series successor. I'm looking for newer Android phone and since I was quite pleased with G3 I was really looking forward to next iteration of G series. But G5 is clearly derailed from G series.
Hi-Fi DAC is welcome, but not in such way, I use Sony BT headphones and Pioneer receiver wich all support BT aptx, fail to see a use for this DAC. And camera module is not interesting to me either.
What I'm saying is they sacrificed too much to push this odd innovation into established series of phones.

Realy? G5 is ugly compared to G4. And G5 has a smaller screen, but it's bigger than G4? wtf? Yeah great that you focused on audio, but still no stereo speakers?
Smaller battery? Like really?! G4 has a bad battery life, and you gave G5 a smaller battery? Who is your ceo?

I just can't.. you guys will go down

Nokia 808 and IPhone gave the ugliest and the most unwanted basterd child ever.

There is no gimmick here ok ! Accessories are different and modular concept is different. LG has set the standard of launching their first modular phone through this G5, which is remarkable. Project Ara by google is still on works as you can't expect them any time soon. Modules might be expensive or not.But with the launch of two modules, Camera grip with 1200Mah external battery and a HIFI DAC module for the audiophiles. No one is bashing anybody here. If you like this G5 you can buy it. If you can't afford to buy the modules, just don't buy them. By bringing a HIFI DAC module doesn't mean that the audio chip by default in this G5 is bad. What LG doing is simply aiming at providing rich customer experience. Smart phone users? some love gaming, They got a VR accessory. Some like smartphone cameras, Who wouldn't love to have a couple of external buttons mounted in an external module to zoom in and out, have a physical button for shutter and extra 1200 MaH battery for shooting. Not to forget the normal and wide angle lens. Nobody abandoned it, if they did, They just couldn't produce the results. Oh you said about the battery bump,Don't like it? Don't buy! The other users are audiophiles, who plug into the headphones literally all day long. When you own an expensive Bose or Senheisser headsets for your smartphone, The Modular DAC will improve the quality of music. This is still a groundbreaking innovation and a great design. Now about the LCD screen, it is all you need to watch video of a high resolution. You don't want to watch 4k videos on an AMOLED which drains juice like anything without an external battery as samsung does. LG can bring 100's of accessories as Iphone and samsung does. But with this modular innovation, LG is way ahead and the samsung and iphone are way behind. Not to blame, Some samsung and apple customers are so loyal that they don't care to taste the old wine in a new bottle.

Also, did it really require some rocket science to put a good 3500-4000 mah battery, 64 GB internal storage and make the phone 2 mm thicker? As you said, innovation is welcomed, only if it is implemented well. But for now, what I am seeing right now, I don't like it.

A GREAT modular design would be if you could change what you want:screen, camera, speaker, battery etc. Not just gimmicky modules. LG even didn't manage to come up with modules worth attention. B&O DAC? what if I use BT? Probably gonna cost to much anyway, and some camera key/battery pack which look ridiculous and won't even fit in your case cause of this extra bump. as I said before - kinda good idea, but poorly executed. Sacrificed back button and thin attractive bezels for this gimmick? Not worth it IMHO. Also dual camera setup - is nothing short of a gimmick, many companies tried that and abandoned this idea, rather have one well-balanced camera. Innovate in design, battery, user interface, not such gimmicky features. Peace:)

LG G5 beats the GALAXY S7. In real world ,you wont notice the difference between s7 and g5's screen.both have same chipset.both have great cameras. Samsung has f/1.7 and lg has f/1.8 yes samsung has 1.4 micron pixel size but we do not know the pixel size of G5. Have to wait. Camera gimmicks on both phones are good. With upcoming Android update,Vulkan API is coming to all phones. G5 has a removable battery and great modular design

And yeah,i am true to my words. I would again say THIS IS INNOVATION. if you do not wanna accept this, fine, but that does not changes the truth.

Well done LG. You have created a platform for all other phone makers to follow. Just standardise on the modular units so people do not have to buy new once with the next masterpiece. By the way does the phone have wireless charging capability?

Get off your high horse, they sacrificed so much for this gimmicky "innovation" - wich is a battery sliding off the bottom, basically, with introduced 2 modules(no doubt will be way overpriced). How groundbreaking is this innovation? Look at the vast accesories available for iPhone, with all those lenses and battery packs/cases its miles ahead of this gimmick without even trying lol:D And you think many will be interested in making any high quality and worth buying modules just for this 1 phone?:D Good luck with this "innovation". Good idea - poorly executed. Peace!
