Only thing that looks better to my eyes is its auto white balance on the 6S and dynamic range.

Gone are the days when we use the term "camera" for hardware only.
Now, it's a combination of hardware, software and process.
In terms of hardware (the camera and sensors itself) and process (autofocus techniques, aperture detection, etc), Sony is at par with the rest of current top cams - both Modular (i.e. Smartphone) and stand alone (the actual cameras, etc)
What they're lagging behind is the software. They have yet to master a platform which can compute and process the image fast.

I hope to see as soon as possible a detailed camera/s comparison between the S7 & G5, the 16MP + 8MP of the G5 vs 12MP of S7, & of the front as well, the 5MP of S7 vs 8MP of G5. I hope that GSMArena will do it as soon as they can!!!!!!?

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016It didn't even beat the S6 family.It didn't, but neither did the S6 family 'beat' the iPhone 6s Plus camera. They're both on par really, when I was carrying a Note 5 and 6s Plus sometimes the Note would produce the better picture and just as often the iPhone did too.

For me the biggest disappoint in design was lumia 950. Lumia was the leader in good design and this year they missed it.

Dual pixel autofocus is nothing new on DSLR. Canon has the same technology used on their high end cameras. But for a phone I must say it's very new and kinda innovative.
