That's good news! I never used that Samsung player even with my old S2. I and up unistalling it (root require to uninstall build-in apps) I also unstalled "browers" and "Samsung store" and all other useless apps the I NEVER EVER use! I use chrome as my default browser, mx player for video etc etc... I hate too many useless garbage on my phones background/menu. preffered to have 3rd party choice rather.

Why spend development effort while Google has provided the apps for free.
I wonder why Samsung keeps browser while people uses Chrome.

Microsoft is definitely not paying Samsung. To keep Samsung from paying those patents Microsoft own they are allowing Microsoft to install apps on their devices.

Of course some can be removed with Root Explorer, but that's not the point. Forcing these apps are not wise, in fact forcing any app is not wise.

I've always used 3rd party vid player on all my phones but their music player was actually quite good... Why remove that???? Bloats like Google's music, video, and book/magazine should be removed or be removable.

Play music and Play movies aren't dedicated music/video players though. Their primary function is to play Google's content. Dedicated music/video players from manufacturers are always better because they are designed for local content.
The reverse thing should be happening IMO: non-core google apps being only on the store. I have never used keep, google+ and the rest of google bloat. Why should I have those apps bloating the system partition, taking away precious space that I can never ever take back?
If you truly want to shove your services to my face, at least install them on the data partition (like most of the bloat nowadays), so that I can remove them for good.

Jeez! One of them apps which I disable/uninstall first are those two apps, Play Movies and Music. Are you serious Samsung? How much is Google paying you?

Both 'Play Music' & 'Play Movies' app are uglier than Samsung's stock music & video player.

I wonder if Google had anything to do with this. I hope they do... The less non-Google bloat we have on Android phones, the faster the updates will be. TouchWiz and LG's skin have already taken a turn for the better thanks to Google working more closely with the OEMs.
