dlads, 23 Feb 2016You've been using windows phone since mango, you poor soul.... moreI support him in his decision to use Windows phones. I used a Nokia Lumia 520 that cost me less than a $100 and had 512 MB of RAM. That little phone is still running relatively smooth. My Lumia 830 with 1 GB of RAM can outperform my Samsung Galaxy S5 with pretty much everything. I like Android a lot (in fact I love it) but I have to give credit where it's due. Windows phones are beautiful, efficient, and reliable.

More applications will be able to remain suspended and resumed nearly instantaneously without the processor needing to reload the application. You'll only really notice it if you never close any applications and constantly go back to applications you opened ages ago via the multi-tasking menu.

RejZoR, 23 Feb 2016Sorry, but I find it hilarious. Phone shaving more RAM than... morePC runs on Windows. Smartphone runs mostly on android. It is a big differences. Android can install over hundreds apps in a single phone. More ram needed to launch this apps faster. Android not necessarily be a phone. It can be a tablet too. Thus, more ram needed. Faster performance and reduce waiting time, reduce reload time and smoother function. Less lag and less freezing. It only eat up as much space as the apps you open. Lesser apps open then lesser usage of ram. When 4gb ram first announced by Asus people go crazy and be like, "Why we need 4gb ram? We only need 3gb. 4gb ram is overkill. Nobody need that. No one will buy it. It is stupid idea. Smartphone sales will flop. No one will ever buy that thing. It will be overpriced. It will drain battery faster. It will still lag. It is not a computer. Blablablabla". So, yeah. That is what happened everytime new ram capacity came out.

its not the ram which makes your cell to run fast its processor. ram just provide enough space to run os+apps. i think 3gb ram is good enough and 4gb ram would be more than enough .. 6gb ram may create unnecessary competition. 6gb ram is not at all required for at least next 2yrs.

AnonD-176696, 23 Feb 2016Finally! Someone who agrees with me! The way windows n IOS ... moreAndroid doesn't "demand" powerful hardware. Go read the major tech blog's reviews of the first generation Moto G (a 1GB RAM phone) and tell me what the recurring theme is. What happens when you update a Moto G to the latest version of Android? It runs BETTER. Now explain to me why a Lumia 640, which has the same specs as the Moto G, runs like an absolute DOG on Windows 10? I DARE you to try running 3 apps concurrently on that phone (if you can find any good apps to run at all).
While you're at it, why don't you explain to me why there are hundreds of forums full of iPhone 5/5s users complaining that iOS 9 significantly slowed down their phone. Notice a word that pops up time and time again from those posts? Yeah, "LAG". And forget about running it on an iPhone 4/4s. Here's what one Gizmodo editor had to say about his iPhone 4s running iOS 9: "Compared to the iPhone 6, there is a few-second lag when opening apps and even waiting for some content to download via wifi". A FEW-SECOND lag (that means more than 2 seconds, btw). So how come this miracle OS that would run fast on a toaster can't run on an iPhone 4s?
The only thing Android "demands" is a user with half-a-brain. No really, I mean it. As long as you're not more than partially lobotomized, you can understand why Android multi-tasking is superior to that of iOS and WP (which, with it's now 1.1% world market-share, is a dead platform). My 3GB RAM OnePlus One allows me to run 30-40 apps at one time without lag and before Android starts forcibly closing the oldest running apps. All of those apps are fully active (unlike iOS's app suspension), and my recent apps list even shows me the individual browser windows I have open within one browser app. I can stream Pandora music while downloading a file in Utorrent while apps are auto-updating in the background while browsing the web in Chrome, with no appreciable lag, on a 2-year-old Android phone.
More RAM is needed on an Android phone because Android multitasking is better the more RAM you have, and Android multitasking is better... you finish the thought.

Ooppsss! S7 Edge clone is here! Love the design a lot if compare with S7 Edge, seriously I don't like S7 Edge's home button placed, it would look better if there's completely nothing infront of the screen.. Like this smartphone, good job Vivo but I concern if it doesn't build with fingerprint sensor and low screen durability,.. if it does,. I'll feel so sad

wer, 23 Feb 2016windows phone doesnt lag ? are you drunk ? Im repairing nok... moreI don't repair phones, I actually use them. ;) I've had WinPhone since 7 prior to Mango update which introduced multitasking. I've used exclusively WinPhones through my current 8.1 using 512 MB at the most (until my 640) and have never experienced lag. On the other hand, I spend hundreds of dollars for my wife's iPhone every other year because it lags so bad she needs a new phone for performance issues. Her phones get to where she can't even launch maps (all other apps closed) so she'll ask me to find something for her instead of draining her (non-replaceable) battery waiting 10 minutes for the app to load.

You say android is a big pig of a mess
Well, apart from IOS and WinMobile yes, it is a big OS that needs more resources than those two, better OS bigger demands
But I assure you, 3gb ram on android does not lag, at least not on some quality brands (not samsung)
