Don't forget IR blaster, accomodations for extended batteries, and USB 3.0.
Better fast focusing and better camera sensor seems to be good motivations for getting one, but Samsung has done good job with previous models already, even "plastic" phones.
Heck, I think I can wait till Note 7 with the come back of removable battery. 128GB microSD memory expanded, 10000mAh extended battery that gives 2 days very heavy use, can carry me over the next 1.5 years for that.

Yeah S7 is the best looking phone, right thank for the laugh !
It's the same design every years no change, same old fugly frontal button, S6 look exactly like S7 #samsungftw. i did love samsung hardware, samsung is killing android with all the fragmentation, you should see the number of S5/S6/S4 and soon S7 variants. and they do not commit to upgrading. and touchwiz is 70% bloatware + forced apps and ads revenue.
i wish they would forgo android and go back to their wave phone.
Android eco-system would just be better. What's not to love when around the world samsung branch decide or not to give upgrade to phone Fc that.
i would take any other AAA brand name other samsung in a heart beat.
No innovation, can't wait those chinese phone maker plummet samsung sale for good !
Even Xiaomi is more commit to put samsung phone to the lastest os. ridiculous.
If i had to choice between LG G5 and S7 it would be a no brainer.
modulable phone with quick swap removable battery ?
Vulkan is integrated in Android 6.x.x
lack of bad samsung layer, sure samsung twz has some good things, but not worth it.

I think the best thing about this phone is the camera, vulkan api for better optimized gaming like metal api in ios, and the game launcher feature

I must admit that S7 could be a great smartphone but there are some things unclear .... about the OIS and the IR sensor. I use my Note 4 as a remote very often and I think is a must in a 2016 smartphone. I want to change my Note 4 but if S7 doesn't have the IR port then my only options are the S6 edge or LG G4, for now. Any help would be great.

People who complains, needs to understand no company can deliver revolution every year and that there are no perfect phones as such. What Samsung is constantly achieving is to deliver best in class smartphone and always leading the market with real solutions. Apple on another end is just pretending to be advanced with their cheap 3 years old hardware and gimmick solutions aka do not compare us, because we different kind - in reality iphones are just overprices mid-range phones.
As for upgrade. I will not upgrading from s6 edge, first of all is not that much difference, second this year edge is more like edge+ and I want to stick with 5.1". However, it doesn't mean it is not worth upgrade from earlier Samsungs or any other Manufactures, especially crapple.
