No Fan Boy...!, 24 Feb 2016You seems to be an Apple Fanboy...! My dad has S6 , i curr... morei wouldn't even bother informing the readers of gsmarena about anything they are wired to hate certain brands with a passion, deny the obvious truth even when there is phisical proof in thier hands and its like thier alter egos step in when ever they comment to make sure they devalue what they personaly dont like and try every time to preach the gospel of brand hate. its like they are on a recruitment drive for souls or something. so pls spare ur self the pain of stating what anyone with a sensible mind already knows about AMOLED displays. ;)

AnonD-419155, 24 Feb 2016Ermm, it looks like displaymate only tested the samsung,app... moreThey used to test more but then everyone fell behind. There is no point in comlaring the displays if they definitely aren't better. Proven by how pretty much nobody thinks there is a display better than Samsung's, no reliable source at least.

Ermm, it looks like displaymate only tested the samsung, apple, and some other few devices so when they said it's the best display they have ever tested I am not surprised. Although samsung indeed makes great display, I wish they would test display from some other major brand like sony, htc, lg, or motorola

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2016A little disappointed. The article states that it surpasses... moreIt didn't say it greatly improved it though. The only place such an adjective was used was for brightness, and there were indeed strong improvements in that regard.

No surprise here. I'm just want to know what kind of improvement does Sammy give to the always-on-feature on amoled display.

Again, there is an endless thread on XDA about defective SGS6 screens

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2016A little disappointed. The article states that it surpasses... moreThe improvement is not minor. It is big. They switch the Pentile Matrix display with RGB now. The nits control is more efficient and smarter as it able to learn your favoured brightness level. It can go down as much as only 2 nits which other smartphone had never achieved before. It is also 24% brighter and recognized as the most color accurate display in smartphone. Still think it is minor changes? Display is not just measured by ppi if that is what you thinking.

regs, 24 Feb 2016When majority of Samsung displays have poor TN-like viewing... moreWhat's way worse than that is the ugly color shift and the severe black crush which makes it impossible to see details in dark scenes even at full brightness in a dark room. I'm not even sure anymore if this is an actual problem or if Samsung just does this intentionally. In my opinion, AMOLED screens are unsuited for media consumption due to those issues. And no, using a different app or setting the screen mode to cinema mode does not fix this.

Or that weird color/contrast shift that goes across the screen which you notice especially when viewing a plain grey or dark color image. Every TN/IPS panel doesn't have this, this is an AMOLED specific Problem which they still haven't ironed out. But the simple folks who those displays are aimed at don't care about this so AMOLED has a good reputation.
