LG deserve to do well been very inventive and i hope they do. If LG can promote some more useful add ons for its design it could be massive. At the moment it doesnt seem much more than gimmicky.
I personally think most of the Galaxy S7 was designed at the same time as the S6. Brandnew design with the S6 and take a few things away then give them back with the S7.
Both phones deserve to do well as they have gone off in different directions and thats great for consumers, buy what suits coz niether of thems bad.

        Fail companies!
Terrible UI, hardware cannot be trusted, Clueless about design, hungry for making fun of each othera and the rest of the world.
Polish a turd every year but its still a turd. This companies are criminals. They brought destruction upon world of technology.

Hero, 28 Feb 2016The best phine would be LG Galaxy G7 EdgeLoooooool

I much prefer the s7. The g5 is interesting, but i can only imagine the build quality of a phone that has a detachable bottom as its greatest selling point. Dust is going to get inside, the edges will eventually wear thin from friction, and accidents can rather easily split the phone in two due to the discontinuous chassis.

Not to mention that one would have to attach a bulky "friend" to have a battery capacity that's large enough to at least be satisfactory. I just don't see the need for a modular design as of now. I do agree it's a big leap toward the future of smartphones. But i'm going for the more practical choice.

voted for LG G5 for being the more interesting device. even though i kinda expect the modularity to flop big time, sadly. and while i like the G5's front, the back's disappointing... wish they made the phone slightly thicker to flatten the camera bump out, which also would've allowed them to fit a bigger battery in, i suppose. though they probably wouldn't have done that anyway.
still, props for being the more intriguing device. the S7 just feels like a better S6 to me. which isn't bad, and maybe tech-savvy people prefer the S7 for that exact reason, but idk... it's just boring

                        Neither

They both could add so many things and get out with a decent devices but no

                        NOT THIS YEAR

AnonD-508887, 28 Feb 2016Obviously LG G5 should be a better option than Samsung s7 e... moreFirst of all, its 4000 not 40000 Mah with a module inserted. Else, S6 has bigger battery. And Module on G5 suck as you will have to restart phone everytime you change module. Why not get a removable battery rather than module??? Would me much bigger :P
Also Super amoled Display at 5.1 inch would take much much less battery than 5.3 inch on G5.

Overall, camera for S7 is better. Specially in night. Though it aint that wide. But overall better :P

Sd 820 has a bit heating problem (not as big as in SD 810). Liquid colling in S7 would make it cooler than G5.
                          S7 also looks better.

G5 has only one advantage i.e. Removable battery which is useless.

Galaxy S5: "Water resistance came with a trade off--the device became bulky..." - Samsung's VP at S7's MWC 2016.

G5: "Modular design came with a trade off--the device became ugly as hell" - Me.

Is it only me who thinks G5 is a design-fail?? Seriously, I like the futuristic offers that it has, but the design is cheap looking.

I rather wait for a full review and wait to see if lg g5 modular will be really useful or just another gimmicky, for standart smartphone i prefer galaxy s7 because of the camera and i think s7 performance will be more consistent cause use of the liquid cooling heatsink.
The g5 modular will be the key for g5 succes if lg can bring various useful modular.the cam grip i didn't find it useful the only one useful is the extra battery cause the cam grip is made to make easier for taking photos but you need to turn off your phone to change modular so it render the point useless since it makes things complicated and you can still take photo and zooming without use the modular so it's not worth to turn off your phone change modular just to get better grip and shutter/zooming button unless the modular improve the camera performance then it's Worth

I like LG G5. It brings metal body with removable battery which is really great. But if I have bigger battery and can go through the whole day, why would I even go through that trouble. At least they could put bigger battery and little more nicer design.

It's funny to see posts that Samsung is better than LG or LG is better than Samsung, all the while reading like a press release from the companies PR department.

I'm still using a Note 1 and it works for my use, web-surfing, Facebook, and SMS. The phone has been running for over 4 years now, but it's time for an upgrade since the 1GB RAM just aint enough, plus the camera blows.

I'd love to go Sammy again based on how good the hardware is, but since they got rid of the removable battery I lost some interest. I boycotted Samsung last year for Note 5, once I realized it had no SD Card or Removable Battery. The LG smaller battery doesn't matter since I can just swap in a new one, and it will probably be selling for much cheaper a few months after it first goes on sale, compared to the G7. Plus I do like the modular design. But I do like AMOLED screens and the night camera the Samsung has.

I'm on the borderline, and it will be a tough call for me this year.

G5 lacks that premium look which s7 edge n even s7 posesses ...
galaxy series has always been ahead of G series ( except for lg g2 vs s4 , i guess )
lg g5 doesnt come close to the s7 edge looks n i bet battery life wud be better on s7 edge as cmpared to g5.. n i lterally hate LG UI.. no customizations no other cool features just the basic ones ..
