It's a lot better than Apple, who doesn't even have the expertise to develpp technology and just buys them from vendors.
Apple is a low-cost off-the-shelf brand. At least Samsung customizes their hardware more than anyone else.

Also all pre-orders do not get translated into actual sales - this is applicable for MI5 as well. Samsung would anyway ship those 17 million S7 (and its variants) on-schedule and claim that S7 has broken records. Then after 2 months, do price-cuts (to the tune of 20% to 30%) to be able to sell all those shipped units eventually.

S7 and S7 Edge are probably the most appealing Samsung models released so far. There are still may S3,S4 and S5 users out there and they are the right target customers for the upgrade. I think the estimate from Samsung on the unit sales is about right.

Smaller batteries - we complained. Now there is sd card & bigger battery too. Then also we complaint. This behaviour of human being sometimes sucks. Just think what a phone offers besides what it lacks.

Nitwits, That was the first model edge, natural demand. This time no change in design and up & down specx, records are not easy to break, esp of oneself. Nobody is so desperate to buy, fist day first show, heavens is not going to fall. Lets see, otherwise on itself Sammy would declare as target achieve.

I seriously hope they don't expect to sell these with only 32gb of storage. Slow sd cards don't make up for it. S8 better have 64gb, 128gb, and 256gb with or without a sd card slot. Oh yeah, and make the camera 16:9, not 4:3.

It still uses special technology like britecell and good software to position itself as the best smartphone camera. They also use less outsourced components than pretty much any other brand.

I dont remember if it's here or in another place, G5 actually beats S7 in regular photos when there's plenty of light (also video) and S7 wins in low light.

Giving a free vr is a good start to guarantee some sales numbers, and if they discount the S7 as soon as in the second and third week as they did with S6, it should have great sales
