If they want to remain the most popolar app they must mantain in the widest possibile user base. WA is the only chat still used on Nokia, if i had to switch to Android I would get viber or tango or telegram instead.
I dont mind the new features, just that it continues working and beeing compatibile.

Whatsapp are an arrogant multinational company, happy to support Blackberry customers when they were charging for it.

Do they really think we will dump our Z30, Passports and Classics for an app, screw them there are over a million Blackberry users out there and with facetime and hangouts in the wings I for one an not bothered.

Nokia stopped supoorting/updating their Symbian OS long back. What's App was/is the only app which received updates in last 3 years. It's time to move on. Those who are still using Nokia phones (myself included) should appreciate What's App for supporting the OS for long time. Even next year, we won't receive further updates. But the app will work as earlier.

Well BlackBerry 10 supports apk format apps so it is easy to side load future versions of whats app in BlackBerry 10 smartphones.

Best way to be on W10 is to drop support for the mobile version create a universal app. That way apps can support desktops, phones, xbox consoles etc etc. And apps like WhatsApp would be extremely useful on continuum.
