The problem in s3 is the
1. option and back menu removed to free up screen real estate
2. Long tap at widget should should what the shaking iocns in iphone instead of the pop out menu, it is ugly and not user friendly and not stylish
3.resizable widgets to have two size, three size or six size of a widget size. Why nokia cant make it a reality since the n97
4. Hope some of you people agree with what i say here and suggest it to symbian or nokia feedback site
5. Nokia and symbian lack some talented fashion designers:(

Well said Mendax....
The build quality of the N95 was far from perfect, & it was no secret either, hence why I chose not to buy one. Even if someone bought it right when it came out, they would've known that there were build anomalies, & returned it. If they didn't return it, then they have no one to blame but themselves, which is why I am so anti-plastic when it comes to my mobiles.
I do serious research before I fork out anything over $300.00. I have bough the E66, E75, 6500 Slide, 6700 Classic & my last Nokia I bought was the N97 Mini. All have been great, (especially the N97 Mini) both in build & SW. I am not, nor will I ever be a mobile power user requiring tons of RAM & a uber fast processor.
Nokia devices are the best designed mobiles IMO, & now that they throw in free voice-guided nav. they are even more desirable to me.
I have used just about every mobile there is, at least for a few days or so, except for many of the LG models), & Nokia is my favorite. I am not gonna pretend that they haven't released some duds, because they have, but when compared to other brands Nokia is still the best, & their sales reflect that.
Once S^4 & MeeGo get established you can bet that Nokia will be unbeatable, & iPhone users, if they are lucky, will see their first 5MP camera, & maybe Xenon flash...but don't hold your breath, Steve Jobs decided what is best for you & what you need!!

Nick, 29 May 2010Used to be a Nokia fan boy, but after being screwed over by... moreNick, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but regardless of how your experience with these phones went, the proof was pretty much in the pudding. GSMArena, for example, posts detailed specs of all Nokia (and other GSM) phones, not to mention thorough reviews. You could have used those to assess whether or not those phones would suit your needs.
For example, the last phone I bought was the N82. After reading the reviews and specs, I felt that it would be a suitable choice. Alas, I loved it and will be somewhat sad to put it into retirement when the N8 comes out.
Bottom line: Informed decisions decrease the chance of any unwanted surprises popping up.

Used to be a Nokia fan boy, but after being screwed over by Nokia so many times I'm never buying their products again - Unless they make an Android phone ;)
But remember guys:
N95 came out. In EU the phone cost $1000 and the phone had so many problems with it's built quality and GPS. Then Nokia made N95 8GB and I personally felt screwed over. I bought an expensive phone and instead of fixing it they just released a new one.
Then came the 5800 Xpress Music which was suppose to be the "iPhone killer". Well we all know it was a massive let down. Unresponsive screen, etc. Instead of fixing it and releasing new software/firmware for it, Nokia pumped out the N97. It was suppose to be the ultimate phone. I paid $700 for it and again - instead of fixing the problems with OS speed and touchscreen - they just pump out another phone.
I'm done with Nokia. I'm tired of having to pay for their mistakes while they try and get it right. HTC is my new favorite. They are far from perfect either, but they are open-source and fast with the firmware updates.

Seems to me that touch sensitivity is lagging. Or is the system itself thats slow.

N8
big improvenment in term of hardware from n97
more improvement from s60v5. But software is getting better by update, i dont care much about it, bear in mind that you cant change the hardware
that is why hardware is the most important thing when it come to choosing phone

This is part 1 of 3 videos, so more things will be shown.
As for all the people going on about 1GHz and 512MB RAM, can you tell me of one app that requires that much power? Almost no app out there even requires all of 600Mhz and 256MB RAM. The only time I saw something needing more then that was when you try to run some PSone games on the N900, in which case a simple overclock does the trick. Until more phones start coming out with those specs, not a lot of developers are going to use all that power. It's like with PC's and consoles: PC's are way faster and powerful, but because consoles are the majority, very few games use all the power to it's full potential.

Spyroscesarsc, 29 May 2010You said alone... Metal is for making impress... It is so s... more Stop speaking in 'Emglish' and try English. You'll find people can actually understand what you are saying.
The proof that metal is considered better is that phones made of metal have it specially listed in their specifications. The reason why not all phones are made out of metal is that it costs more and plastic is a cost reducing measure. If someone sees a phone with similar specifications. They will go for the metal not plastic even if the metal one is worse than the other. The metal is eye candy which is why Apple insist on using it in their products.

Anonymous, 29 May 2010But sadly, your opinion is flawed. You said that having a ... moreYou said alone... Metal is for making impress... It is so strange for you that there are people who don't want to make impress? WTF? Also when i said making more noise, meant that is more attractive but it isn't right in Emglish.. :p
You try from evening to prove that a good phone must be metallic.. If people agreed with you then all phones out there would be metallic... But as you see, most of them don't care real about the material but about the specs.

I really like the conversation grouping like Android has. It's been long overdue in Symbian.

Symbian has done a pretty good job. If only Nokia endorsed Android. I guess Nokia has some contract with Symbian, or maybe they don't like open source OSs with ads.

They need to do away with the long outdated grey buttons, looks lame and taking up too much precious screen space. Just show the icons themselves in translucent fashion without the grey background… mission accomplished!
