Niraj, 30 May 2010Yes, many Nokia users are also not happy with capacitive to... moreWell it's gonna be free for how much the phone has warranty 12 or 24 months unless you drop it and it cracks...
Resistive also has multitouch but I guess nokia has to fill the gap for capacitative right now...

..joey.., 30 May 2010is it just me or does the screen seem like that it's resist... moreThe screen is capacitive is it was very sensible.. I think Nokia's Product Manager was previously using resistive screen of other Nokia devices so habitly he used the screen as a resistive screen.

is it just me or does the screen seem like that it's resistive??? shouldn't capacitive screen be more smooth and just require a mere touch of the skin of the thumb?

Camry, 30 May 2010I'm laughing my head off all the time when I see all these ... moreI'll take Symbian over Spydroid anyway. But that's me, some people (10 % Android owners) don't care about privacy.

Dave, 30 May 2010This comes from an undercover Nokia employee... I'm completly agree with Judge Dread.. If you want a Android like ui on N8 then why need to cry, there is alread SPB mobile shell is available for it.. SPB makes the ui of symbian better than many of the Androids.. Since Nokia is already giving N8 in a fairy price so giving just extra 30$ for a totally new ui worth it.. Mind it, after this you will have two choices.
And since Symbian is open source so we will see more improvement on ui via firmware updates.

Judge Dreadd, 30 May 2010Is there any significant lag? No, there isn't. Does Symbia... moreWell put Judge Dreadd, I don't get either what there is to complain, a highly customizable fully supported multitasker with big screen and an awesome camera with xenon. Obviously there is jealousy involved.

Is there any significant lag? No, there isn't.
Does Symbian^3 does multitasking well? It does it exceptionally well.
So, what exactely is it that some people here complain about? I see some people (obviously fanboys from competing brands) who say "I don't like it" "It's old" etc. So, why those people don't specify what exactely they donÄt like and where exactely they see issues with performance or anything?
Fact is: Symbian^3 looks nice, it is very customizable (much much more customizable than iphone OS), it does multitasking perfectly well and it runs on an 680 MHz CPU, saving quite a lot of power and battery life as opposed to OS's that require 1 GHz in order to run smoothly.
The N8 is a terrific piece of hardware with a camera that has the potential to replace most dedicated digicams, with an FM transmitter (listen to your favorite mp3 music from you mobile over your car radio), phenomenal HD video performance, dedicated HDMI out and even direct data transfer to USB stick. And all of this runs on a fully functional and smooth OS that allows for the latest GPU intensive games (Need for Speed etc.) and all the good things a modern OS needs to have.
Actually, people who blindly complain about the N8 and/or Symbian^3 are obviously jealous haters and they have good reason to hate because the N8 puts all the latest bog players to shame.

Of course we all know that there's an intrinsic benefit to Nokia using Symbian, in the fact as they own it, there's no licensing costs to pay.
