Nokia N8 uses USB OTG, browses files off a USB drive and Nokia C5

31 May, 2010
USB On-The-Go is a relatively unknown feature on mobile phones despite its obvious advantages. Watch how some lucky dude connects a USB flash drive and a Nokia C5 to the N8 and plays a few tracks...

Symbian can look like whatever you want it look like, it's the most customizable, themeable and skinable OS in the world. Anyone halfbreed programmer can make a little widget based OS where you press a icon to enter a app, it's like early simple linking that webpages have, just like every single brand has now. Widget based OS is the easiest one to create.

Nokia makes it different from the mainstream mass which they should get alot of cred for. The extreme multiple push update live homescreen is one of a kind and won multiple awards end of last year for the most innovative creation.

All of you can go and look like eachother, LG, Samsung, Blackberry, iPhone, Android etc etc, there is no difference between the lot of you. You all walk around with the same ol widget OS and the all look like eachother.

I for am happy Symbian^3 made this homescreen. The highly customizable live push update homescreen is the most effective homescreen to ever brace the main menu of a mobile phone. 90% of all the action is done automatically to keep you updated all the time, and all other setting are on top of the updates with one push.

You people go ahead and be like every other egg in the same basket, i will enjoy being different and effective when N8 comes out.

A feature that could come handy anytime. BTW, the theme applied on device by video makes is really pathetic. Symbian^3 is much more nicer with default theme.

Polo99a9, 31 May 2010imagine N8 + 128gb pen drive. You don't even need a hd dvd ... moreYeah, there's always gonna be haters who wanna ignore the truth. Such a shame. The N8 can now except flash drives and pen drives and different devices over OTG. Only 3 other phones I know can do this. Truly innovation

But no haters, keep talking fud trash about symbian and how it slow and how its bad. whatever helps you sleep at night.

someone, 31 May 2010i seriously dont think its a good idea to have all my frien... moreEven if you make all your friends and society install iTunes for your convenience it still won't work, cause you can only use your iPhone with your own authorized iTunes on your own PC. Otherwise Apple thinks you might take songs, apps and media from your friends iTunes without paying Apple for it personally.

How is that for inconvenience and dictator/capitalist behaviour? You tell me..

[deleted post]Today, Nokia sold 1.3 Million phones. Who cares about 2 million devices in a different space. And mind you, Nokia's market share actually grew qoq and stayed flat yoy. With a rapidly expanding market, thats actually very good. Stop the FUD pls.

imagine N8 + 128gb pen drive. You don't even need a hd dvd or bluray anymore.
I must admit that the iphone is and will be the best media phone ever, because of the games. But the games in the demo that run on the N8 will take that away from the iphone. Allong with hd video, xenon, carl zeiss, hdmi out, gps, wifi, 3g and now this, i don't think the iphone can top this. The N8 sounds allmost perfect. but i am sure that there will be coments like ''symbian is bad, batery lasts for 1 day, or no lens cover''. if this is all that's wrong with it i will buy it in a heart beat. If you nokia heaters don't agree, then don't buy it and miss out on one of the greatest phone from nokia.

Cool feature. I think Nokia should add this feature to all its E series smartphones. Then i will never depends upon a PC to transfer my files specialy those quick office doc which was made by my E series phones. Other brands also follow this feature... :-D
