I guess they'll finally increase resolution too. Apple fans say they don't care but they will as soon as the news is reported.

Just deal with it - nothing comes close to Samsung screens.. there are some prototypes from toshiba, sharp - but they are one of samples, they will never be in mass produced phones, nor can be made in large quantities for reasonable cost.

xfc, 03 Mar 2016True that amoled is of better quality than IPS LCD sometime... moreThe joke comment of the year. I don't know about all OLED screens, but the ones on Samsung uses 70% power than any other display on the market. They may be using 3 times the energy when displaying white (that I don't know), but even while doing so they are still 70% more energy efficient.

Too late, and oled screens will be superseded by my better emoled, perhaps. No happy note, maybe decline of iPhone might have started, as Nokia, BlackBerry, etc in their zenith. No sure shot. Price too would be above 1k.

I can answer this one for you - never. I still have my S2 and my original Galaxy S is still somewhere in my drawer - no artifacts after 6 years. 1 - nobody use the phones for 6 years nowadays. 2 - even if the do the screens good enough for 100s of years on normal use. 3 - the only place you see such defects are display devices, which sits on 24/7 in sunlight. Over long period of time (like 3-6 months) the panel heats enough to burn so bright artifacts.

Final point - yes you right iphones are better "display" phones, not good for anything else thought. OLED is 7 years old technology and apple just planing to get it next year - "reinventing the world again".. what else can I say..

OLED displays have come a long way such that burn-in is not a huge issue anymore. Go look at some laptops Lenovo have announced with OLED displays in, they only do it now because OLED displays have come far enough to put them in computers without burn in

Hahaha nice copy from Samsung. Now they need to call it iOLED and then say it was an Apple invention lol.

                                    iDiots ftw.

I thought Samsung was coming up with radically different display concepts like bendable and rollable displays....while Apple seems to be still thinking that Samsung 2011 technology will still be relevant?

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2016 lcd have yellowish tint sceen too iphone in my home land ... moreThere are many different LCD technologies around. Most notable are TN, IPS and VA. Most modern IPS and VA have nearly ideal white color and little contrast degradation at angles.

Sharp's IPS implementation called IGZO and New Mode 2 have much better color reproduction than Samsung's AMOLED at the moment. Sharp even went bankrupt, but never tried intentionally to sell defective screens to save costs.
