You need an AT&T Next plan for both.

i feel like these comments are rather ignorant....

AT&T has these types of deals across the board....and when you truly look at the numbers...it is actually profitable in favor of AT&T. their trap plan actually is smart because it forces people to use their service as well as pay for the entire phone and then some depending on how they want to upgrade and all. the upgrade option still makes you pay for the new phone you upgrade to while paying out the old one

please read into these things because making assumptions that samsung or even apple pays AT&T...there is more logic to it than a marketing ploy. in this case, it is a marketing ploy by AT&T itself.

hell have you seen verizon? they are offering a samsung S2 if you buy and switch to them.....im pretty damn sure that samsung only agreed to give the VR sets for free...not the watches...

              Huh!
Amazing that some commenters below find negativity on a free choice generous offer! Haters gonna hate I guess.
I'll die of old age before anything like this comes to Canada! :S

I'm trying to figure out how this is a good deal... Seems like a way to get a person trapped.

                    profit... that's the whole point...

There is probably some sales incentive from Samsung to hit some sort of sales number, and then Sammy will comp AT&T a ridiculous amount.

But the consumer is still screwed because they have to pay for two phone and data lines.

how much did samsung pay to at&t to perform this. LMAO. ha ha ha
samsung to have much buyers count must have at least 1 free phone to be counted. ha ha ha
