AnonD-451522, 11 Mar 2016What I said was that the 650 and 652 are more expensive tha... moreeven A9 Iphone Masterrace SoC only cost around $19
How much difference between both Midranger, SD 616 and SD 650 ?
            $3? $5 ? $10 ?
            both also use same LPDDR3.
if they put SD820 with DUAL channel LPDDR4 with same amount of memory, the cost difference should only around $50.
A53 is weak and oudated. SoC maker should really upgrade their line with A72 for performance AND A35 for energy efficient. I really want to know how fast A72 on STOCK android.

AnonD-157510, 10 Mar 2016Come on man talk reasonably. The expense is not based on nu... moreWhat I said was that the 650 and 652 are more expensive than the 615, 616 and 617.
The 650 and 652 are newer chipsets.
The information we have says that the new Redmi 3 has a 1.5Ghz octa-core CPU, and the snapdragon 617 fits that specification.
I told Anonymous that the 650 was not possible since it does not fit those specifictions, due to it being a hexa-core chipset. Further the 650 is too expensive to be used in cheaper RMB 799 phone.
I said nothing about any relation between core and expense.
I was probably not clear before and you misunderstood me. Sorry about that.

Useful, people behave to Xiaomi. Begin to like their actions, all the more. Seen on MARS that will become the world leader on the market of mobile phones. I wish them the best of luck.

To everyone's surprise, these types of phones equipped summary at this level are seen by those with low financial possibilities, as mobile PREMIUM. Any company that "think" bring such phones, especially if you have and finger-print will have a colossal success at this price. Bravo Xiaomi. You're one of the better and better.

So according to you , snapdragon 820(quad core) should be cheaper than snapdragon 616(octa core) right? Ur arguement is wrong. Snapdragon 650 costs more than snap 616 .

A 5" 720p display, octa-core processor, 2/32 RAM/ROM, 13/5 MP snappers, microSD slot, 4100 mAh battery, Finger print scanner... all put together for $120.

Two years ago, my first smart phone, Xperia U with a tiny 3.5" 480p display, laggy dual-core processor, insufficient 512 MB RAM, non-expandable 8 GB ROM, mediocre 5/0.3 MP snappers, little 1320 mAh battery... all put together for $300.

This is nothing short of amazing from Xiaomi.
