gam30toronto, 07 Jun 2010hey guys. I am trying to decide between this phone XT720 an... moreI understand your curiosity as I myself have had quite a few Nokia phones and windows mobile phones as well. How about you try to find someone that has Android 2.1 and not an earlier version and try it out for a bit. Reviews can only go so far, so you need to try out Android 2.1 and then I suggest waiting if you can and try out the new Symbian OS from Nokia.

Since they are not mentioning, I am afraid it does not have an AMOLED display. Also, the 600 MHz processor does not seem to be very oustanding nowadays... Sad, because otherwise it is very nice phone.

best 2010 smartphone by pcworld
two m... morebuddy nice try,
just cause its not on some list doens't mean anything. Nokia n900 is a computer, not a phone. the things that n900 can handle no other phone. can the droid or dext handle full java? full flash? mozilla web browser? full linux apps and support? open gl support? thats wat i thought big daddy..
just cause the maserati quattroporte wasn't on the "best cars of the decade list" doen't mean it doens't crap on 95% of the cars out there...
n900 is a whole new league. n900 is the reason why symbian transformed to wat it will be, why maemo merged with moblin to form with meego.
o, and also maemo was recognized and titled to be THE MOST powerfull OS on a phone to date (ie. has the most potential without modification)... where's droid at?
sorry for ruining ur day with this :P

two m... moreFirst: N900 is not just a ordinary Smartphone, its a mobile computer.
Second: the list seems to be made by some people live in US. There are many phone which should be out of list. Like Moto Cliq and Samsung Behold2. Probably they have not used N900. Because every tech site who have reviewed N900 says it's great.

N8-like in terms of xenon, rom, ram, mhz. Pretty much the same except this one runs in Android. Symbian vs Androin. Bold move for moto to call it a war though.

i had to give my laptop in for fixing during uni for 2 weeks, and my friends were like "you're screwed without a laptop, how are you gonna last?"
they felt so stupid cause they hated on my phone, but wen they saw me doing my banking, my dropping and adding of courses, reading all my notes off of powerpoint and word docs off my phone, their nuts hit the floor...
p.s. do you have any idea how to get a hacked or full version of docs togo? my trail expired :(

so just out of curiosity, why are you on this forum if you have an n900? (looking up wondering what im diong here)...
god knows wat waxx is complaining about. bro, you're using a 6 year old phone.. stop complaining. Also, maybe you should try changing the firmware code on it (to say europe) and try to re-flash it or reinstall the firmware. that might help fix ur problem. You;re probably just an unlucky one to have that problem with that phone, ive never heard of a situation like urs. i've had a nokia since i was in grade 8 (been through 5 models) and i have not had a SINGGLLEEE problem. wen i mean problem, i mean not even as much as having to replace the battery, paint coming off the body, buttons being stuck, NOTHING!...
hence why i choose to buy nothing other than a nokia. I bought my sister a droid, and im impressed but still dont think its anything capable of wat my n900 can do.

100 Moto, 07 Jun 2010This should be one of the thinest touchscreen phone around,... morea thinner touch-screen phone from the almighty brand you ask?
samsung galaxy S 9000: 9.9 mm thick.. thats 1 mm thinner than this phone. (one of the advantages to having an AMOLED screen--eliminates the need to have a glass layer on top of the screeen)
and the only reason the nokia n8 is thicker is because it has 16gb memory built in, a slightly larger flash, smaller in width and length, a crazy insane graphics chip and an fm radio transmitter built in.

100 Moto, 07 Jun 2010Except most of the so called "Symbian" users only... morethe thinner it is the more fragile it gets plus their is no space to let natural air pass through so the thinner phones over heat and use more power those making it burn out quicker and use more energy
you've seen what happened to apple's products and the moto droid and even the HTC HD /HD2

I had an N82 for years, but I want an Android to replace my cameraphone. The software on Nokia just plain sucks and they give up on software updates quickly. Will own both the new iPhone and a new Android phone to have the best of two worlds. iPhone's OS is still second to none, but Apple's own philosophy will always restrict it in some way. Xenon is nice and all, but what I really want is OPTICAL ZOOM too. I hope manufacturers aiming at their camera strengths will add it more OPTICAL ZOOM like Altek did to Leo. Xenon is still rare, but OPTICAL ZOOM is even rarer. Considering Palm can't get enough apps in their store, Nokia is still catching up on smooth software, and RiM is more for business, I think Android might be the way to go for the most ideal cameraphone. I believe either SE or Samsung will be the ones I believe will create my #1 cameraphone. More reputable name than Altek. Plus, Android is supporting Flash. I can finally watch porn instead of just some "filtered" YouTube searches on an iPhone. I can't even watch YouTube music videos on an iPhone anymore.
