8 June, 2010
We would be more interested in seeing one of the 720p@30fps video samples that the iPhone 4 does but still photos are all Apple are willing to share at this point. The company has published several...

A lot of the "new" features on the iPhone 4 are only being marketed as new, and mostly only Americans will buy into it. Reason being is that people in Europe or Japan know more about high end SE or Samsung or Nokia. Example: almost all the people that I met have never even heard of the Nseries or the Xperias. I walk into a AT&T store with a N900 and they have no idea what it even is and the first question that pops out of their mouth is what phone is that? Followed by where did you get it?

            http://www.uksmallbusinessdirectory.co.uk/Uksbdphones/top-10-mobile-phones.html

That is the list of the top selling phones in the UK in 2010, if you notice, the iPhone is not on single one of them. The reason is that people in the UK and the rest of Europe don't buy into Apples advertisement like people here in the US. With most believing that the iPhone is the only one who can send videos in MMS from the commercial or the soon to be iPhone is the only phone that can make video calls.

Also, high end Nokia's, SE's and Samsungs all come with contracts there, making them more appealing. None of them come with contracts here in the states. That plays a big factor believe it or not. Ask yourself this, would the iPhone be what it is today if things here in the states would be just like they are in the UK and Europe? And be honest when you answer it.

Allan, 09 Jun 2010The specs are good but it could still use a stronger batter... moreThe video calling limitations to wifi might not be Apple's shortcoming, but its carriers. It was mentioned that they are working with their official carriers to get the video calling working on 3g as well. Maybe it does work on 3g, but just not smooth enough for Apple's standards. Or maybe because it's one of the least used features by users, that's why Apple has not given it high priority. As for video calling with non iphone devices, there could be compatibility issues. But like I always said, if you are big on video calling, get one of those phones that claims to have that feature, and good luck if it really works, lol.

Well I'll say that its definatly an upgrade from what the older iPhones had, Even though 5mp cameras were around back when it first came out, even at todays standards its nothing really impressive, since there already two 12mp devices with the Nokia N8 on the way too, this just still seems out dated. There are too many devices out there, that truly do out perform this thing in every way. I mean really all Apple has done is just proved just how amazing they're marketing is, and that having such a poor selection of mid grade phones saturate the market allows something like the iPhone to pull out ahead. If Samsung, or Motorolla developed that exact same device it'd be a totally differnt story. We just have crap phones in the states.

What you have is pure jealousy that the iphone is able to efficiently multitask and is smart enough to determine which apps should run simultaneously with other apps and which apps can be suspended in the background. Your favored device is not smart enough to decipher which apps need to run at the same time and which ones should be suspended, so it just leaves all of the apps running in the background even those that don't need to. Not smart :)
