steve, 14 Jun 2010hurrayyyyy galaxy s launching on 3 network......awesome newsWhere did you hear 3 are getting Samsung i9000 Galaxy S?. I have looked on their website, and found nothing, in fact, i spoke to their reps, and they haven't a clue what the phone is; and instead tried fobbing me of with a Galaxy Portal. If they are getting it soon, then the muppets at 3 should brief their staff!

I have been with 3 for sometime, and I really need to ask myself why?

There reception is crap for internet, and their staff sell to hard without asking what the customer really want. Let me give you an example, they will have tools at their disposal that allow them to get the average minutes, internet, text calls, over any set periods, but, they forget to ask why the customer wants more of one type or the other. For instance, i would like to have a smartphone that allows me to use my internet allowance more, but, for some apparent reason unknown to 3 i have not been able to get internet on my existing phone, since i increased my Internet allowance from 10mb to 1GB... how bizaarly convenient for 3!.

I actually find their staff on par with door to door sales people, and Estate Agents!...frigging to busy thinking what they are going to say next, rather than listening and understanding what the customer really wants... now I think about it... sounds like my X-Girlfriend.... " 3 - start listening, otherwise you will be also an X! "

As they say 'There's no such thing as a 3meal... you will always endup paying in the end... even if you don't eat whats given!'

Coming on orange next month, July. Spoke with orange. Vodafone seem to have it coming tommorow and Virgin in a few weeks. Some good tariffs around, one works out at £21/month 24month for Voda. When purchasing from mobiles.co.uk it states £16/month rental. Voda has the 16GB version at mo.
y oh y do orange have to get it soo late, a simple upgrade wudv been so nice.

I went in to an 02 store tonight and they told me 23rd June. Virgin told me about a week and Carphone Warehouse told it could well be tomorrow. Samsung had told them mid June so he said it's certainly going to be less than a week but they're due a delivery tomorrow. I got to see a dummy model and really liked it. It has a similar look to the Iphone. I've been torn between the HTC Desire, which has some great reviews and the Samsung Galaxy but from what I've read and heard, I think I'm going for the Galaxy. I had hoped that HTC would bring a similar spec phone to the UK soon, based on the new U.S. Evo 4G, but without the 4G, of course but no-one's commenting on that.

my biggest ever problem with a network was the 0870/0845 issue that i happened to have with Vodafone. i'm not naive enough to suggest that this problem is exclusive to Vodafone, or to hate on Vodafone for that reason.

if i'd signed to Three first, i would have discovered that problem with them. it goes for any network provider.

the worst reception i've had was with Orange, but that could have been different if i'd been living somewhere else or frequenting different places.

i think the important thing to remember (*dragging back to original topic*) is that competition is fair, and claims made by companies can be verified by independently sponsored organisations. this is all in place for the benefit of us the consumers. it's not some fanboy conspiracy to promote the worst mobile network.

i've been on Vodafone, Orange, O2 and finally 3, at my brother's recommendation.

any problem i've ever had with a mobile network is due to my inexperience as a consumer. i only signed contracts when i was completely convinced of network coverage and NOT when a salesman told me so.

all networks have their detractors, but when someone is travelling and out and about up and down the country, it would be misleading (just plain wrong) to suggest that there was a more comprehensive 3g network than Three.

again, it's not THREE telling you... it's OFCOM.

What's the point of facts if people's actual living experience with the product and service is poor? 3 may have on paper a better coverage and cheaper prices, but honestly how many people do you know are actually properly satisfied 3 customers?

Other networks have their faults as well, O2 may well have a large userbase but their 3G coverage is shocking, how they support all the data users I have no idea.

anecdotal evidence doesn't hold up very well to scrutiny, that's why OFCOM was set up. again, if you have evidence as opposed to a complaint you may have heard then please share.

it's not hard to an advocate or critic of any network, product or phone.

so u think voda have a superior 3G network when the 3G coverage is less than 90% of population where as 3 has over 94% population coverage and 3000 more cell sites than voda and will add another 2000 by the end of the year giving a total population coverage of over 98% which is by far better than any 3G network in the UK.

Having owned a SE X10 and still using my Omnia HD, TFT are still inferior to AMOLED. TFT may have the advantage of being able to have higher pixel count but LED is not far behind so the difference is negligible. The battery consumption is far more mild, better contrast, colours, brighter and you can use your phone in the sun!!

Although Samsung failed keeping the Omnia HD firmware up to date and least the community has done so much more. With Hyper X looking to make V6. Hopefully Android is good for this sort of thing.
