Anonymous, 12 Jun 2010Before you buy ANY Samsmug phone - check out what happened ... moreagreed. any samsung phone. they make good stuff but there is no support afterwards

remeber behold 2 that was promised android 2.0 + upgrade that never happened? it made news...
and awesome but lacking support from all omnia series (omg omnia hd took ages for its firmware updates)

this one again with promise of froyo (2.2) but when?? knowing samsung probably year and half later when your phone is nearly obsolete.

and amoled? serirously even with improved life, blue one will go faster than other two colors making it not as good choice as tft/lcd even if they are old tech

Watchdog are a BBC consumer editorial program... moreJust want to add my personal experience: my girlfriend is on 3 and she has a 5800XM with free Skype calls. She lives in London, near Notting Hill, and she complains a lot about the 3G reception :-( We talk daily and several times a day (I live abroad and use Skype on my computer) and it's rare for us to have a conversation without the call dropping or having pauses/data corruption :-(

Three offer the best coverage!! What are you smoking, in order for me to get a signal in my house i have to hang out the window! Orange is better (75%) and O2 is better yet with 100% signal, not sure what voda is like. I preordered mine for £35 a month for 18 months.

2 Years no thanks i am still paying for the misses iPhone 3GS for another year yet!! I must say i am some what tempted to cancel the Galaxy S for the iPhone 4 but the iphone will cost you through the noise and lack of flash down the line by looks of it.

OFCOM are the real watchdog... whose data is more reliable?

BBC's Watchdog "data" is as reliable as the National Enquirer.

if you're referring to 3's decision not to suspend service men's accounts whilst they were fighting in Afghanistan, then yes that is VERY lame. however my point still stands.

                      1. the galaxy i9000 will be available on 3.
                      2. THREE offer the best 3g coverage in the UK.

do you have any evidence to the contrary because this really is getting oooold...

Rediculous comments from the praiser of the three network. surveys are a waste of time next to fact. how many times have three been on watch dog for absolute time wasters for a network. vodafone have always been the most reliable network followed by 02. this isnt specualtion or 1 persons opinion. this is fact.

the reason that 3G is slow to take off in America is more to do with coverage than speed. if you spend your whole life in the city in one neighbourhood where you've run a coverage check and KNOW you're getting great reception i'm happy for you.

most of us get mobile phones because we're, well... mobile. i think that splitting hairs between getting 5mbps download and 6.5 mbps is kinda mute if your network keeps dropping out.

the article you posted to doesn't mention HSDPA on mobile phones and neither does the website the article links to.

mobile networks use different bandwidth allowance for mobile phones as they do for the mobile broadband service they offer.

this is why all companies that offer both are required to offer independent coverage checks for each service.

any other links? given the evidence that OFCOM are wrong i'd gladly change my mind.

I like this phone but I won't pay 35 quid a month and be locked into a 2 year contract. Better off buying the phone for £469 getting a £10 30 day sim and then selling it 12 months later. You are not tied to a network, More flexibility and cheaper that way.

                                      i'm simply stating 2 facts:
                                      1) the Galaxy i9000 will be available on 3.
                                      2) 3 has better network coverage... according to OFCOM's latest survey.

if you have any other reliably independent data to share, by all means share it. until then, sit down.
