HTC 10 benchmarked, tops competition

24 March, 2016
The benchmark in question is AnTuTu 6 and the S820-powered HTC beat the Galaxy S7 edge (both Exynos and Snapdragon).

Mildly impressive, but it's not about numbers, it's about how the overall package works. The HTC 10 needs to be far greater than the sum of its parts, or the size of its benchmark scores, in order to make a dent in Galaxy S7 sales. It has to have a great camera as well, something HTC has struggled with in the past. The One A9 had a decent camera, so HTC needs to keep up their momentum.
Oh, and I do hope the design isn't just like the One A9, I felt the A9 was quite boring to look at. Just another metal phone, like the iPhone 6s.

You can like Samsung. But I hated the extreme lagginess of Touchwiz and the mono tone bottom speaker which produces soft bass-less audio.

Since when having the fastest clockspeed/processor benchmarks only makes the phone the best one there ?

        screen quality ? battery ? Camera ? Water resisting ? Design ?

If it's just about the processor , my 3 years old LG G2 can still run any app/game hassle free with no lag with just snapdragon 800 and 2 gig of ram

Antutu is a horrible benchmark. Please stop reporting on it. That way companies might decide to make better SoCs instead of one's trying to top Antutu (yet being shamed otherwise, like SD810 is when compared to Exynos).

I'm skeptical. How could they get a higher score? Lower resolution? I wouldn't think there's that much room for optimisation.

AnonD-210597, 24 Mar 2016The 820 cannot reach those values normally. Thats probably ... moreIt could be HTC's software as well. HTC Sense is typically much lighter than TouchWiz or Xiaomi's skin (can't remember what it's called). We've yet to see a Snapdragon 820 pushing stock Android so we really don't have a baseline to say for certain.

If htc m10 has a great battery and camera then it should be worth the purchase after considering all the specs(which should be same as per 2016 standards)

Now come out with an attractive phone. They have to know that performance means nothing if users are turn off by its looks.
