Two different chipsets, same speed? Perhaps not.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2016Haha Qualcomm fan boys are so fun. They probably haven't fi... morewhen you want to say something to fans of some brand, when you start talking how they stupid for example of something like that then say "most of them",not all, becouse every samsung fan boy,not exynos, samsung galaxy fanboy i know, dosent know anything about phone except front camera, and that on the front of device he is using is writen samsung, and to people like that samsung is the best, but they dont know why,and they probably never heard about exynos, its probably to complicated to pronounce that word... im sort of qualcomm fan and i have reasone for that. AND the way this very smart youtuber compare the performace of this two chipset is not relavant, you simply cant cant click everything in the same time... and sd820 maybe is slower then exynos in the samsung s7,but that same chipset in the diferrent device with different software can be faster then s7 with exynos.
proper speed test is when you open the same app in the same time, and you see which phone opens first, same thing for ram..

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2016For your information I personally use iPhone so stop with t... moreTomato, tomatoh ... both Apple and Qualcomm processors I put on the same pot, all they care about is gaming benchmarks. At least Apple pause applications in the background so they make their processors look fast, what is Qualcomm's excuse? Oh I know "we.can't.create.a.good.soc".

You seem hardened though, I gave you a direct example of an app that *utilizes* more than 4 cores and you didn't bat an eyelid.

      Here's another one: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9518/the-mobile-cpu-corecount-debate/11

Actually MOST popular apps show that same pattern (4+ cores in almost full usage). I'm a tester and I've done my research, I work with those things trust me. Sure the less used (or usable) apps only utilise one core, but who cares about them boy? Maybe the 10 people buying your app... I'm talking about the majority here.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2016That's why I call you a fan boy, you only quote things out... moreFor your information I personally use iPhone so stop with the snapdragon BS (even though I have access to alot of different Android phones through work for testing our applications).

And again, Im not saying multi cores are useless from a efficiency point of view, but we are talking about performance.
The fact is that most applications do not make use of multiple big cores for executing main threads so the power of a single big core is of course very important for speed.

Its not wonder why Apples with its powerful designed Cyclone/Twister cores can fight of octa-core SoC. And Anandtech have made it no secret what they thinks of Apples CPUs :)

Can't read a chart, knows nothing about math, trolling that betrays no knowledge, knows nothing about computer science. They are impressed by big words and a good name (snapdragon sounds better than exynos).

All you qualcomm fans can't tell one thing and back it with data. That's both funny and sad.

Here, run Antutu 24/7 , I'm sure it will answer emails for you, surf the web, play games. After all that's why we buy phones, to run Antutu!

You're being played and you're proud of it, silly fools.

Samsung fans, you don't know anything. Silence is golden, in your case. Snapdragon, for now, is the winner. Will not Club regulars with cold water. It's just, the rain water.

                        http://www.anandtech.com/show/9518/the-mobile-cpu-corecount-debate/4

Can you see how total utilisation often exceeds 4 cores, and *always* exceeds two cores?
The belief that android apps merely balance the load is an atrocious lie.

Your precious Qualcomm would actually be slower in those tests even from last year's Exynos 7420. That's how bad it is for only using two cores that are not useless...

It's only good for artifical benchmarks. Next time run Antutu 24/7 so that to feel that your SoC does not suck...

nothing new here. 2015 exynos conquer the SOC race and yet again on 2016. Better battery life, which is very important for non-removeable back, and real life performance.

Anonymous, 26 Mar 2016I just gave a link, don't you know how to read? http://www... morePerhaps you should should read it yourself. Most of the time its a single big core or running the main thread (sometimes switching between cores) or in some cases its spread over more cores but not at full load. Again, its about running running efficient, not for max performance. And its not about poor programming, its simply not possible to spit all problems into sub-task that can run in parallell. For all those cases it doesn't matter if you have 100 cores. The only thing that matters i the single core performance.

                            Anandtech:
"Again, in terms of actual total run-queue depth this task could have easily been done by a 2-core SoC such as Apple's A6/7/8 without losing on performance. What one has to consider though is that the per-CPU load on such a SoC would be much higher, requiring higher single-CPU performance or frequency. Because the app actually manages to spread out the load equally over 4 CPUs, it should actually be able to take advantage of pararellism for the sake of power efficiency instead of performance"

What more do you want? Of course and things like scrolling don't care if you have 2 or 8 cores, but other things do, those that actually need that much power. Lastly games are not well coded, so stop refrencing them, gpu matters more there anyway.

Stop with your lies and admit that you have bought some Qualcomm shares (there is no shame in that btw, you're just wrong).

I guess it was from 20 to 40min (using codecs with hardware acceleration support so it wouldn't take a big toll on the gpu/cpu).
In any case, now that I remember, I used to use some snapdragon software to enlenghten its battery duration, don't remember the name anymore.
