Two different chipsets, same speed? Perhaps not.

They may have varying units of speed on their results but overall performance is not relatively distant from each other. It would then be left to the consumer's tastes or available options that is if one variant is unavailable to a particular market. Not that I am all for speedy seeding but I am really interested and curious to know of how Samsung would deliver security patches or OS updates to these differing SoC variants. I think for all those who wildly go crazy of whether their flagship will get the latest of OS updates and security patches in a reasonable amount of time the better question should be: Will they seed to both SoC nearly the same time or will users encounter an unreasonable delay of update(s) to whichever SoC?

8 cores will always be better than the 4 cores.

I repeat it again. It's not about speed difference but the custom ROM support between the both! That way the snapdragon is always the winner here!!

Exynos 8890 chip is manufactured by Samsung for s7 series whereas sd820 is made for flagship Samsung optimises its chips for there device so there is better performance + battery life

Considering the equal hardware I guess there are some overheating concerns with SD 820 if it keeps all apps cached.

wow, didnt expect this result... SD single core performance was clearly ahead... since most apps dont need multiple threads, i figured SD will perform better.... oh well, glad i have the exynos version here in australia :D

M1 cores on exynos are just impressive...Mongoose wins all the way.

So happy with the S7 Exynos...will rule 2016

This is complicated. If we want certain combinations (camera sensor and chipset). Especially the camera sensor where there probably won't be any indication as to what sensor the particular S7 has on the box. Chipset most likely will though.

Shame on Samsung part they will optimize their own SoC to make look superior than on Qualcomm SoC, best if you compare it with other OEM with the SD820.

Nothing new. Snapdragon is always behind Exynos chip dating back to the galaxy s3.

Lead2XL, 25 Mar 2016Almost nobody cares about slight speed differences at this ... moreCheck the GSMArena blog, they tested battery life for both SD820 and Exynos 8890 S7 Edge and the Exynos version had much better battery life.

Compare their battery performance, they're both more than powerful enough.

Almost nobody cares about slight speed differences at this level except extreme gamers and those who like to say that mine is bigger than yours. I want to know which SOC gives the best battery life.

So typical for Samsung. First create a supercar, then make it 400 kg's heavier with the hope nobody notices because of crap software. How is it possible that with these rocket processors the SD820 has to reload apps in the S7 with 4GB ram. I will never ever buy Samsung when it's not Nexus.
