PenTile makes the screen more pixelated, because the pixels are not in RGB matrix. PenTile screens have less real pixels than their nominal resolution. So for example a HD resolution is a lie, because in reality, it does not have as many pixels. And no matter what's the subpixel arrangement, all Amoled screens are going to burn in. They have much shorter lifespan than LCDs.

Their panels will cost more than Samsung's panels at first but in due time, their inkjet vapor deposition tech will allow them to take a large chunk of the pie in OLED market share.

JDI is a joint venture between Sony, Toshiba, Hitachi, INCJ, and the recent joint venture with Renesas electronics (FYI:Japanese Company). I know that JDI could not acquire Sharp because Sharp is desperate for money, so Foxconn ended up winning the bids.

JDI owns 15% and currently in talks of taking over the company. It's previsouly was in talks of taking over Sharp, but Sharp sold itself to Foxconn, so now JDI thanks of buying out JOLED.

Wow, with AMOLED I get 1/3 less subpixels and much shorter lifespan (with uneven wear (burn-in) and gradually diminishing maximum brightness) than LCD for similar price. Sounds like a good deal to me...

You're STILL living in the OLD Amoled days? come back to 2016 please. Or 2015 even.
Samsung phone screens have been rated the highest quality for quite some time now, even better than LCDs.
The best thing about S. Amoled? It can try to be as good/better than a LCD in color accuracy through software. But no amount of software can help any LCD to have better color reproduction (Vivid, Punchy colors) than a S. Amoled.
