Oh, that's good to hear. I hope they then will finally step up their quality, because most AMOLED screens in samsung devices I've seen are absolutely horrible. For example I have a Galaxy Tab S2 and it has that ugly contrast gradient going from the bottom to the top of the screen. I compared to 4! other Galaxy Tab S2 and they ALL have that problem, some more some less. You can notice this especially when viewing the grey background of chrome (when no tab is opened).
Furthermore, all of them have severe black crush, meaning that dark contrasts are indistinguishable from eachother and this makes it impossible to make out details in dark scenes. Infact i first noticed that when watching a video which I've watched on my PC before, not by doing a test specifically designed to make this visible. You can't see below 7 (on a contrast scale from 0-255) on a dark room on low brightness. even on 100% brightness you only see down to 5. This problem in my opinion makes the device unsuitable for media consumption. I rather have a bad TFT Display with bad colors and all but where i at least can actually SEE something in videos. Great device and all but tihs is a deal breaker.
So now that the production costs are so low they can finally throw all those garbage panels into the trash and give us proper displays. Or maybe the average Samsung-customer is that much of a pleb that he doesn't even care that he's using garbage. The reviewers who test screens should test what I talked about in this comment and make it clear how bad this actually is, maybe Samsung would rethink then. Personally this holds me back from buying a Samsung device. This one was a gift, So was my galaxy S2 which also had this problem. 4 years later it still exists.
I mean yes, it has nice punchy colors and pure blacks and all, but that doesn't make up for the aforementioned problems in my opinion. Maybe if all you do on this device is play clash of clans, browse the web a bit then yes it's not a big deal breaker. but if you like to watch movies on it then it sucks.

IPS neo is an amoled killer.
Samsung is just wanting show that amoled is the best.
Some people prefer amoled but some prefer ips LCD.
IPS LCD can match amoled quality.
Good example are G5,Z5p, iPhone 6s plus.
So don't go trolling everyone amoled is the best.
Yes amoled does indeed appear good across all devices. But IPS LCD is not bad.

AnonD-399185, 25 Mar 2016Why? I know a lot of people how are saying the same and non... moreips lcd has very accurate colors. It is not dark like amoled has. Also pixels does not get burn in after some time (not sure if s7 has any burn ins) but lcd is very very good in white color. Since amoled screen has tints. Amoled is good in black color, pixels are completely shut down and saves battery.

Ips panel gives more vibrant quality picture like nearly original. that's the reason professional photographer uses Ips panel monitor. even most of the led tv made of ips panel instead of Va panel. and its quality never decrease like amoled after years. even iphone 6s uses ips panel.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. So, none is superior than other.
